Note. India can make dams and reservoirs on the 3 pakistani rivers to produce electricity but in a certain amount. And has full authority on the 3 Indian rivers. So as he ( mr expert ) was saying that India cant not make any structures on rivers is not true

@@Farhanfreefall according to treaty , India has the complete control of its 3 rivers and India has limited control on the rivers allocated to Pakistan

@@mumermalik3253OK then why your leaders sign that treaty. And the indus basin also feeds a lage population in India. Regions of kashmir, Punjab, north Rajasthan, haryana, himachal and uttarkhand depend upon indus basin. If you combine population of these area, it will bea more than of many big countries. And also that India cant store that water for much. According to treaty we have to release that water. And as you said that India has many different rivers also, so amoung them the ganga basi is the largest and it already feeds almost 50 to 56 percent ( or it can be more also) population of our country. It is already a very big sourse of water for many, so by diverting water of it toward states that are drained by indus basin will not be good. Same goes with south Indian rivers

@@mumermalik3253 according to treaty we cant hold wat for much. We have a fixed time period. And after that we release that water. It is Pakistani governments fault that they dont build required infrastructure like dams and reservoir.

@@mumermalik3253 indus water treaty was planned an engineer who solved the dispute between Canada and USA regarding water distribution. If there is any kind of bias present in the treaty , Pakistan governor should not have accepted the agreement.

If Pakistan can't honour Shimla agreement, why expect India to honour Indus water treaty ? TCM was supposed to be neutral, but ended up being mouth piece of Army ( not Gen Faiz Hameed atleast )

Chenab i.e. Chandrabhaga is basically a river of Himachal Pradesh. It belongs to HP and has a very small Kashmir connectiion. Chenab's waters should be diverted to Ravi and other Indian rivers including Yamuna. India got in her share waters water of only two rivers compared to 3 rivers for Pakistan.River Beas is only a tributary of River Sutlej . Beas does not even enter Pakistan. Indus Water Treaty of 1960 is heavily in favour of Pakistan with 80% water going to Pakistan

That's right, Pak broke Shimla agreement, invaded Kargil, their lapdogs Lashkar-e Toiba attacked Mumbai. In return, why can't India break Indus water treaty?

Certainly blood and water cannot flow together. But, but, but, but...the water that flows through the western rivers, i.e. Jhelum, Chenab and Indus is more than 6000 TMC a year. India cannot store this huge Water volume. Remember Bhakra Nangnal is 150 TMC and world's largest dam with 650 kms backwater, three gorges is 1300 TMC. We need at least 5 three gorges to store and dry up Pakistan completely. Is that even possible ?

Nehru ,in `1960 under the Indus Water Treaty , gifted 80 % of Indus river systems water , to Pakistan. As a lower riparian State ,Pakistan was entitled to a maximum of 50% . Nehru had hoped that his magnanimity would usher in an era of friendship and cooperation with Pakistan. A few years later , in 1965 ,Pakistan returned Nehru's grand olive branch gesture , by invading India

The treaty was done giving Pakistan 80% of the water. the expectation was that this generosity.. it will establish peace. Pakistan launched 4 wars after this, now is trying to restart terrorism. Why Pakistan even thinks India will not completely cancel this treaty. There is no international system that will stop India from canceling this. This was a bilateral treaty, where no other relationship exists, nor will this.

Out of 5 rivers of punjab india was given 100% control of 3 rivers and remaining 2 rivers were given to Pakistan but india can use water from these rivers for agriculture purpose. Now claiming that Pakistan is using 80% of all water is based on malafide intent alone. Needless to show this issue is very serious and could result in war and would result in mutually assured destruction of both countries. So if any one wants war they will get it and this war will not be like previous wars because in this case it will be fight fir survival.

@@MrAzambhabib clearly you have a lot of reading to do about this topic. let me ask you something, the details of the water division is public and easily available online. so what's behind the incorrect statements you made. are you purely going by your own media in pakistan?. if so should you not know by now.. even your school text books lie about history!! you should go back to read the treaty. start with Wikipedia. it will stop at 70/30 as the ratio, and 3 rivers each. but that is not the actual full numbers. read more.

@@MrAzambhabib and once you are done reading. understand something from the geopolitics perspective. this dam building may not initially divert the waters but all infrastructure will be built to do that. the decision to divert all of the 50% of the water will be based on 2 things, pakistan army and China. the day China decides to divert the flow from brahma putra is the day india will. pakistan simply will pay the heavier price. where the contribution to brahmaputra from tibet is only 20% of the volume. so even if they take half it will only reduce the flow by 10%. but the impact of india taking exactly half the water is far more significant on Indus. becuase of how tilted the current sharing was. pakistan has no grounds to cry about it, in any international courts.. for all they can do is fall back to sharing standards that is 50 50. Just like india cannot stop china from diverting the water. even if these triggers donot happen initially they will eventuality. step by step india will take back gilgit, not pok. India has not interest in pok.

@@curio78 I have gone through wikipedia . The numbers are 41+30 = 71 billion m3 goes to india and 69.4 billion m3 goes to Pakistan. Kindly note that the right to river water flowing in different countries is equal. So this means that no special favour was given to Pakistan also Pakistan needs to discharge atleast 10-15 % of its water to sea to mitigate the environmental issues. You guys keep blaming your old leaders who were faithful to the country and were able to fight and even divide Pakistan in two but mark my words your new leaders are faithful not to india but only one community and this will destroy your country in such a way that it will implode without us doing anything.
