How did a bunch of snowboarders session Hollywood High?

When we saw this video floating around on IG of Tyler Lambert and his friends sessioning the Hollywood High 16 rail on snowboards, a ton of questions came to mind, most notably, “How, and why?”
After being tipped off by photographer David Milan Kelly, who was there that day, we got in touch with Tyler to ask him what went into making the whole thing happen and to get the full story.

I find as I get older I appreciate photography more and more, especially in things like skateboarding and snowboarding. As amazing as the filmers and film makers are in these communities, sometimes I find the succinct nature of photographs to be even more captivating. That first picture is so sick, and from my end of the screen, such a perfect way to represent that moment. Looks so much more surreal in a photo than in video

Nerd reply: water has a high specific heat capacity, meaning, it takes a lot of energy to change one molecule one degree in temperature. Being that there was a lot of snow packed in the back of a metal van, and it was cold because of the time of day and season, they ended up having plenty of snow by the time they pulled up. My guess is that they got the snow up by Big Bear? Or maybe somewhere up on the Angeles with snow since that's closer.
