Stuff like that and the "stuck on a road in the middle of bumfuck nowhere with no civilization around for hundreds of miles" start points that Dan kept getting sttuck with (and that I am likewise cursed to get stuck with all the damn time) make me really wish Geoguessr had some kind of QA for their game. It's literally just a random chance of being put *anywhere* that Google has a streetview map of. In an earlier episode when they saw the "Bit of Denmark" restaurant but it was in California, Arin remarked that "they did that on purpose" like there's actual human beings choosing these start points, but there's not.

I had to go back when Dan said he never saw a little blue sign like that in front of a house and I yelled "THAT'S A FIRE NUMBER!!" they are used in rural townships to help find places if there is a fire. I lived in a small town and saw them all the time when I traveled around.

I immediately knew around the northwestern part of Minnesota was the first one because we drove out that way to our lake cabin every weekend of the summer. The look of having fields on one side, a sparse treeline on the other, and the look, condition, and size of the road is all so familiar and exactly how it looks out there. Tbh south america is pretty hard. All the other countries except Brazil looks very similar, all spanish, very similar architecture.. And about guessing Brazil... they just need to learn the difference between portuguese and spanish lol

To be fair I think pines are the most common coniferous trees in the US 😂 can't really blame him for simplifying things.

I mean, all conifers are in the genus "pinus" and have what are colloquially called pine needles and pine cones, so I feel like "pine" at this point is generally an umbrella term, even though only certain ones are *technically* in the pine family. When most people say pine, they're typically just referring to general conifers, it's not really something important enough to get into semantics for seeing as we all know what he meant and language only serves to convey meaning

@@TheFinalFarewell all conifers are in the family "pinaceae" which is often colloquially referred to as the "pine family." Certainly not all are in the pinus genus (e.g. larches, junipers, cedars, firs, spruce all fall under distinct genera). But it's all good; just my dendrology background making me nitpick lol
