I always thought that her parents could not have ever been loving and caring towards any of their children looking at Sirius Black's mother, added to that all the pureblood beliefs and the strive for perfection having been a Black made her into an extremist with not only her views her family forced down her throat but also her as a person . There's a fan film. Sisters of house Black. It's on KZbin. It's great. Shows the relationship between Bellatrix, Andromeda and Cissy (Malfoys mum). Their dad drove Bella mad. He would torture her by taking away her memories. He forced her to marry to keep the black name pure - in order to let Voldermort use their house so she chose lestrange. But he was a shitty dad. They all feared him. She dueled Voldermort and almost won. He was impressed. She would walk around practicing avada kedavra in the woods. Even on Ted tonks! But luckily she missed and killed a flower. It's actually a great fan film. I'm sorry for spoiling it. It showed Bella's decent into madness. Andromeda falling for Tonks and being disowned by her dad. He took their memories of her from them. Cissy kept a pensive though. And would visit. It showed how she's both good and bad. She was kinda mean .Her and Malfoys love story too. Sirius makes an appearance. Sisters of House Black.

If we look at her altered appearance and an argument she had with Severus Snape, it is safe to say that Azkaban and the dementors did have an effect on her, so it isn't like she is completely immune to Dementors. What I think kept her focussed and clear of mind was the same thing that kept Sirius sane: a unpleasant but truthful thought that she couldn't be taken away from her and reminded her who she was, later followed by a goal that was just out of reach. In the case of Sirius, it was the reality of being innocently imprisoned for a murder he didn't commit that kept him going and he became stronger once he discovered Pettigrew was still alive. He made it is his goal to escape, something that seemed impossible and therefore a torturous idea, so yet again something the dementors couldn't take away from him. What kept Bellatrix going was the thought that she had failed her master (she hadn't found him) and none of his other followers seemed to be any bit considered about finding him. It must have been a torture for her to know that she didn't find him. She became stronger again, once the Dark Mark started burning on her arm, although it must have stung to know he had returned but had no way to be there to witness it and no way to join him. This unquenchable desire wasn't pleasant either, so the Dementors couldn't take it away from her.

StrikeWing she's relatable in the fact that she just wants to please the Dark Lord and her family name. So someone in reality can have the same drive. In a way I do. Of course I'm not psychotic but Bellatrix was not always either. Her incarceration took her to a much higher level. The psychotic problems are not relatable to me, but that's her own personal hell. Everyone has their own personal hell. What's relatable to me, is her drive, focus, loyalty, dedication, and ambition. We don't know a lot about her past life but if you look at Sirius, Narcissa, and what we know of Andromeda then we can put the pieces together, she was probably normal before the dark lord took over her mind and spirit. Of course, we all know why Narcissa never became that way. So all in all she has traits that are relatable to the modern independent woman, and also has traits not relatable to most people in this world. Honestly, I'm not a fan of Harry Potter, but her role was absolutely hands down my favorite. Before I watched the video, my answer to the question was what was said in the video. There's research that looks into elderly individuals and how long they live at a nursing home compared to at home with family, or even a pet. And the data showed that those with family (actively interacting) or even having a pet lived longer than those isolated. So this is a thing where Bellatrix, so devoted and CERTAIN that Voldemort would return had enough faith, desire, purpose, perseverance, and resilience, an so much so that it helped her survive. The fact that she went crazy I think turned her devotion into obsession, how the video said. After 14 long years of just focusing on the person, and then because of that person you get freed, there's going to be some obsessive emotion that can even mirror love and loyalty. I think that's what happened. Great video! I love thinking about the psychology behind the stories.

You should look into wands, at least the movie version ones. How come wizards and witches have wands that look match the personality? Slughorns wand has the design of a slug....Narissa Malfory's wand has roughly same idea as her husbands. Even a death eater has a wand with the dark mark design. You can't tell me Olivander knew which Wizard or Witch would own the wand! I think like many of us in the world want custom made things Wizard's and Witch's would maybe get there wand's custom done after School. Katheryne Koelker apparently when he turned into his dog form he wasn’t really affected. Also apparently cause he was fixated on a negative thought of revenge on peter and the murder of lily and James he didn’t go mad cause they only feed on positive memories

As an introvert. Not having to be around anyone is very appealing. Like big if I ever went to prison. I’d want solitary confinement only. Having anxiety and depression I already have dementors so no change there. But I’m actually less of both when alone. I have enough social time at work. Perfect weekend is sitting at home reading and if having to do errands sticking to only necessary conversations.

Bellatrix was already obsessive when it comes to her desire for power,and Riddle had nurtured a aura of ruthlessness in her as well. So being sent to Azkaban only intensified her desires. Everyday receiving the dementor's kill removed all pleasant memories Bellatrix has that her father hadn't already forcefully removed. So with each kiss, Bellatrix was driven more and more unstable. Therefore the dementors were doing to her what she did to Frank and Alice Longbottom. If Bellatrix had stayed, the dementors kisses would have driven her completely catatonic.

Can you do a a huge in depth analysis on a Azkaban? A big video could be awesome becuase I cant find one anywhere. Questions I think people will be interested in: - history - guards before denentors - what qualifies people to he sent there. Eg are they just more dangerous criminal? - What's the living quarters like for inmates - can people eat/drink there - daily life in azkaban - guards after war? -who and why was the first prisoners sent there, where did they go before? Prob loads more to consider but I really can not find a detailed explanation of the prison and he most in detail videos are about specific inmates like.bellatrix or serius
