Kai Sotto dominant all around performance and the X factor Chris Newsome and Scottie Thompson putting up timely plays is the best part despite NZL getting 18 3s at above 50%fg percentage. We still managed to beat them. That is huge!

@@NicoRocha Coach Tim is heaven-sent for Kai Sotto-he fits perfectly into CTC’s system. what’s great about Gilas’ current system-it’s not necessarily reliant on the point guard to create plays. This highlights Kai’s IQ and playmaking abilities as well. Basta pumwesto siya, darating at darating sa kanya ang bola, narealize niya na mas madali ang Basketball 😂. This makes him more assertive in establishing his spots because he’s rewarded with easy baskets. Kitang kita sa galaw ni Kai nasusukilian niya ang trust na bjnibigay ni Coach Tim sa kaniya, Mas kunpyansa na siya sa mga galaw niya! I just hope those scouts are watching, hahaha!

Ganda ng nilaro ni Scottie regardless yung stats niya. Yung depensa at hustle niya ang mahalaga, tim cone's system will do wonders as long as everyone from 1-5 can play excellent defense. Kai's presence is huge and imagine if we have Malonzo and Edu we'd be more agile and taller.

What a Win by Gilas Pilipinas and finally vs the Tall Blacks of New Zealand! Coach Tim stayed true to his word that we can beat NZ and he pulled it off, IN COACH TIM WE TRUST!! A mature Kai Sotto is really a big threat. I think one of the best qualities of Kai is Yung passing ability Niya. As usual, expected na babawi sa Brownlee. The Thompson and Newsome backcourt is something else talaga, hustle and defense. But one thing I really like is Yung composure ng team throughout the game.

Your anlaysis of webster and the other nz guards prior to the game was spot on. This is a more mature, composed gilas team now. Able to hold on to leads and able to comeback from deficits. We are now more confident against top teams. We already saw a glimpse of this under coach tab. But now with coach tim at the helm and a good mix of veterans and tab era players, we are only going up.

Kasi no choice tayo masyado taong mallit ung line up natin dati kung hindi tayo kukuha n Big man n naturailze player like Andray Blatche . As I've previously mentioned before even before he became my Ginebra's head coach, Tim Cone is a master at in-game adjusment. I can confidently say he's better than some NBA HCs. While NZ is cooking us don sa drop defense ni Junemar sa pick and roll, he freaking switched Junemar to Newnew. Thats some big balls decision making. Maybe NZ watched the tape of Ginebra-SMB on how CTC gameplanned against Abay and flourished it with fantastic Webster going off the screen switch. And that Scottie to Newnew dagger three, just soo sweet seeing them celebrate together after tearing each other apart over the years. Kai has grown to be that unicorn he was projected to be, given the right coach to unlock his potential. This is the GILAS PUSO with UTAK that were clamoring about. Just hoping to have that showdown with Japan. Eversince their recent success to olympics, dami na nila natalong malalakas pero di pa sila nagbabangga ng Gilas. Would love to see that fight.

The thing that really seperate the 2014 gilas to the 2024 gilas is their execution on the cluth. The old gilas can't finish game again great teams, they may have great runs at the end they still lacked on executing on both ends on the floor. But this new Gilas, they will have small burst of runs but late on the game even if its a back and fort game, Gilas is actually hitting their shots, getting fouls, and playing elite defense. Syempre iba ang height advantage sa gilas ng 2014 sa ngayon pero, wika nga ng coach ng Nee Zealand "Polished" na po tayo. We dictated the phase of the game amd that's just enough to beat a great team like New Zealand. Sana tuloy² na wala ng injury next time around. At makaka tikim din tayo ng marami pang success sa basketball program.

Great win and congratulations Gilas Pilipinas. I know there are better basketball minds out there, but just my thoughts - 1) JMF represents the apex of what we could do with a traditional big man. His main issues really have to do with his limitations in speed. Recruiting a big who plays big will be important for future competition. For now the college FSA pipeline looks promising, though QMB should be a natural candidate. 2) Patience pays off for Kai. Maybe he won't reach his dream of making it to the NBA, but looking at the next competitive window until 2028, we have to lean in on his unique physical gifts. He has learned how to read the game better, and as he gets more game reps, he'll even be better. My two cents, he should stay in Japan if he can't get to the NBA. In Europe he will be benched in favor of either overstaying star vets or whichever young phenom they have. 3) We need more multi-tool players, guys who can defend and shoot, and are comfortable being low-usage in terms of getting the shots. But at the same time I hope we feature more plays for our guys, we can't lean on naturalized players forever. Never mind "sulitin ang bayad" mentality. Bless Jordan Clarkson, but that's a reason he is a hired gun instead of a key building block. We need to think beyond both Brownlee and Boatwright. 4) "Malayo na pero malayo pa" - Until we become a regular fixture within the top five of Asia, we still need to continue our development path. There are lessons we can learn from China. Sometimes it's harder to stay on top than to get there.

13:30 How can Junemar, do anything else, he's supposed to drop back to his man who's rolling to the basket. He's just not mobile enough to show or tag for the guards to recover. It's not the guards problem that they don't fight over screens. It's a Junemar issue, like yung sinasabi ni Nico. But I think CTC is using him still for offense rather than defense. If AJ Edu is there that's a different story, he can properly defend those spain pnr actions. Although I still see Junemar as an elite 1-on-1 option more than AJ, CTC can do much more with AJ and Kai.

NZ is in the placed where gilas was before,nung nagsstart maghanap ng tamang player to play for WC,and daHil sa daming liga at kainitan ni kai sa nba dream with Jordan conflict late padin sila nabuo..but right now they are on the right track we can see we're reaching our potential na,edu and malonzo nlng ang kulang and gilas is almost 95% na...and newzealand still experimenting,you didn't say the age ng NZ n pwede bumalik.if 32 pwede p prep for olympics or WC.older than that nonsense na..now we didn't see ung inside game ng NZ puro outside lang.they chose low percentage shot..are they not really willing to win by that or tintago pa homecourt nila play nila..or trying have that identity outside shooting team...the question is sino malaki upside?with 4pt lead..did we see just 60% of potential of NZ?or the timing was on Ctc side?starting from asian games all team b to starting from scratch NZ,,we wish gilas would add more player,we need to stop those shooters,and we need to shoot the ball well from the outside
