Only that Mrs. Palki has "forgotten" some important things. 1. that the first black ruler Jean-Jacques Dessalines immediately proclaimed the empire of Haiti and by no means had equality for all in mind. 2. that there were numerous massacres of the white population during and after the revolution. 3. that there was a civil war between blacks and mulattos. 4. the USA occupied the country in 1915 because there were more than a dozen governments in Haiti between 1883 and 1915. The country was constantly torn apart by riots, killings and unrest. Most recently, on July the 28th, 1915, President Jean Vilbrun Guillaume Sam was lynched by a crowd of people.

Please add that when Haiti got its freedom they didn’t NEED US help. The US joined all the powers of the time to give Haiti an embargo. No country was allowed to trade with Haiti unless Haiti agreed to pay French a debt and stop fighting colonizers. Haitians, once freed, fought the Spanish on the other side and freed Dominican Republic. They also housed and trained Simon Bolivar when he wanted to free Latin America. Haiti gave Bolivar soldiers and guns to free Latin America with 1 thing in return. Free all slaves everywhere they are victorious. Latin America got rid of the Europeans but didn’t want to free slaves. The US hated the Haitians because Haiti had a law that paid any sailor that bring anyone black from any part of the world where there’s slavery to Haiti.
