Hey David, I love your video. Currently I’m downsizing my machine so I can buy large machines. Selling off 4 medium pharmaceuticals at the moment, then my Large units as well. Seeing these XXL MODELS makes me want to get one. But, I have to wait first. It’s very tempting that it can do 3.3 times my XL unit can but here’s the kicker, HR machines break some all the time. My XL (6 shelf) came out broke 3 times in the first week of running. I am no discourage in anyone from buying one of these. On the contrary if it works great, I’ll probably be one of the first, my issue is new product new problems? I don’t mind paying extra for a better machine what won’t break in the first 3 years of use. If it needs to be serviced every month that’s not a problem, it’s when the machine weekly out of the blue for no reason on the operator. Problems come from the manufacturer. Look forward on how these machine turns out

You and I are on the same page. I have an XL and a Large. The XL has been rock solid (mechanically) for about a year now. It HAS given me software-related problems which were resolved in short order (1-2 days to less than 1 days), so that kind of outage is manageable. My Large was rock solid for just under a year when it had a mechanical failure (lost its refrigerant charge). It's been back to them twice for this problem, and each time they apparently just re-charged it without finding or repairing any leak. Pretty poor service IMHO. There is NO way I would bet my business on consolidating to just one big HR freeze drier. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket. Take care and God Bless.

All valid concerns on this new machine. I think the difference in working with the commercial side of HR is that they are now offering the service agreement for $3k which I feel will help ease these concerns. Even with the issues of them breakdown at times, you're not going to find a $10k freeze dryer that can do 100lbs of product whether it be candy, food, pet food or whatever. In my opinion, the biggest challenge with all the FDing businesses I talk to is scaling their business and outside of the HRC100, you'd have to have consider investing in a $100k+ machine plus the massive size of that equipment in your facility. The pros of the XL and the HRC100 outweigh the machine issues at this time. Again, I'm not saying there aren't issues with HR machines but where else are you going to go? Good luck and thanks for following the channel, I appreciate the support!

I sent a paid order in Thursday 5/30 for overnight delivery by certified mail and received confirmation from the USPS that it was received 5/31 Friday afternoon about 2:30. As of Tuesday afternoon 6/4 the whereabouts of my check for over $10,000.00 is still unknown. Thankfully one sales person named Jared is working on this challenge. I'll try and keep all of us posted. Note, I did not purchase the fast track access for an additional $2,500.00.

I just wish they would figure out the kinks in there product and test it better before they move on to the next product. My XL is brand new I have to ship it back because the condenser broke randomly and I can't return it and I have to pay for the shipping.
@rchender7 ай бұрын
Chinese junk and not really a freeze dryer...more of a vacuum dryer. Lyophilization requires controls of shelf and condensor temps along with precise vacuum control. Just check with real FD experts such as Tom Jennings (and numerous others associated with real lyophilizer companies) to learn about lyophilizstion.

I too had a problem with my brand new small freeze dryer...I live in canada and it cost a fortune to buy, then it didn't work right and took months of back and forth with HR. Finally figured it needed a new tray....now it's working OK. But we had to modify things electrically with the help of HR. I wish canada had a company with freeze dryers. That was a very bad first impression. And I bought the newest version...that I'm sure had old parts in it. Not sure if I'll ever buy another one from them.

I got the specs on it a bit ago....just have to re-wire a spot for it in my shop (A 30x30 bldg. Already wired for it ...just need it to be directed to where I want it... before I set up delivery) This is for business....or LARGE HOMESTEAD/FARM. Big investment, for expanding offerings. This isn't for beginners/small start-ups. Take your time.

We have a new XL one thing I have issues with is when doing candy that expands a lot there is not enough head space between trays how much space is between shelves
@freezedriedbusiness8 ай бұрын
It depends on the candy you are freeze-drying. I don't see it being a problem for 90% off all candies based on my visit and seeing it in person. Give them a call to get the exact dimensions of the shelving space.

So I changed my oil, but I do not know how to clear out the scrolling text on my screen that says I should change my oil. Could you help me with this?

We are running 2XL Pros now and doing ok at the moment. Our operation is moving to Rwanda Africa to provide Freeze Drying services to farmers for overflow crops, as well as MRE custom meal services to private clientel. This new Freeze Dryer would allow us to have the one large machine to process fruits and vegetables and the XL Pros for meal services. My only concern is, will they be able to ship it over seas? We leave for Africa in June.

I have like your first 100 subscribers, I seen you grown and it inspired me to start my own business so I thank you very much, sir. About the machine, I am interested but I think (for me) I want to wait on buying one. God now the first batches are going to have more problems that I would like to deal with. I would like to read the agreement they have with the machine, that will be my make it or break it point
@freezedriedbusiness8 ай бұрын
Service agreement should help ease your concerns which are valid. At the end of the day there's no other freeze dryer that can do 100lbs for $10k which even with the issues HR machines have, it still makes business sense to continue purchasing their machines until something else comes along which I don't see happening for a few more years. HR made this entire freeze dryer industry affordable to the average homeowner and now we are all using them for a business running 24/7 which really wasn't the intention in the first place. You have to give HR credit where it is due even though there are failures at times. Just my opinion.

Two blue Alpine large units will have the same capacity and actually cost less and then you won’t need the 220 outlet. It’s actually faster as well probably 40% faster. They use the standard cookie sheet and there’s five shelves.
@freezedriedbusiness8 ай бұрын
Thanks for sharing but this isn't accurate. Based on the Blue Alpine's website, the large is still in pre-order so direct research on the max capacity is still unknown unless someone has a prototype. Also, based on the webpage for the Large Blue Alpine it reads max 25 pounds which in reality is probably around 18-20 pounds realistically. So based on a 25lb max that's 4 Large units at $5k each which is still double the price of this HRC100. bluealpinefreezedryers.com/collections/freeze-dryers/products/large-freeze-dryer

It’s more interesting when it’s personal and less about the corporation behind the device the creator is using…it’s just a tool.
