So, I went to Kullu with @njain1964 for a retreat organized by @rujuta.diwekar …
The moment I walked into the resort, I was mesmerized by everyone wearing the traditional Kullvi pattu saree. Naturally, I HAD to learn how to drape it! And who better to teach me than the locals who wear this beautiful attire every day?
Someone recently asked me, “How did you learn so many ways to drape a sari?” Well, every city and town I visit, I make it a point to learn their traditional sari draping styles. Then, I mix it with my own draping ideas to come up with fun and unique styles.
India, with its 28 states and 9 union territories, is a treasure trove of diverse sari draping techniques. Each state-and even each city within a state-has its own unique way of draping a sari. There’s just so much to explore, and I’m still learning every single day. 🌍💖
I feel incredibly blessed to have been born in a country as rich in culture as India. There’s so much to learn just from the people around me, and it fills my heart with pride and joy. 🇮🇳
