The original japanese is miles better.. however the dub is pretty good. This series is stock full of information regarding it's lore and world building. On top of that it has soo many characters intertwined with everything so if you think you can keep up with it all then go ahead with the sub. Won't regret it.. But if you go through the first 5 episodes and feel like you're lost on everything as info goes by so fast.. then definitely switch to the dub. The world building is the biggest part of why the show or the original story (light novels) is so loved.

I agree. When i first watched it with the sub as a new raildex gang member, i got lost so fast. By the end of the second season i just stop trying to understand it all together. Rewatching it with dub was an awesome experience as the extra time not spend on trying to understand the plot and background let me take in the amazing world of raildex.

Don't watch It Chronologically you will get confused and It Is just really frustrating. But no the Dub Is not bad at all this Is one of those shows with a good Dub. Like I prefer Misaka's Dub VA than the Sub but that's just me. Although Accelerators Sub Voice Is God Tier, the Dub Is still outstanding but not on that same level. You can watch It however you see Fit 👍👍👍

One of the best thing i enjoy watching this anime is how their ability/powers works especially in RailGun series where they're explaining it using science. Like for example Teleportation vs Move Point ( another types of teleportation ). If you are ever interested in reading the light novel to get to know how big and interesting the story and would of Index is there are 22 Old Testament volumes. 22 in New Testament. There is now 3 volumes of the New Genesis, 12 long stories. 15 short stories and the 5 parody stories. That makes it 79 stories of the Index universe he has made, plus some alternative universe of Index he has written and each volume is 300+ pages.

I wouldn't say dub is better cause its all about personal preference really unless the dub is actually really trash but me personally I love the dub more not just because of the voices but because of the dialogue changes to, also alot of people will tell you Accelerator in sub is better but again thats personal preference I actually like him in dub more. If you do watch sub then you can atleast watch some of the scenes dubbed on youtube.

I personally like watching it in chronological order the only problem with that is when new seasons of railgun and accelerator come out and with index being ahead of those two its not really chronological order anymore. The only reason I can watch it that way is cause I rewatch the series atleast once every year. So I'd say watch release date simply because its easier.

The dub is good. Each series fits together in the same timeline with references, hints, or expanded tellings of events that occur in the timline of the franchise. I would go in watch order with Index 1, then Railgun 1, after that you get a good grasp of the Science and Magic sides also in timeline order Railgun starts before Index. After you finish the first seasons of both go with Railgun S. You get the complete rundown of why Touma (MC of Index) and Mikoto (MC of Railgun) know each other and Railgun S expands of a certain event that takes place in Index S1 which evolves Mikoto. Also S might be the best adaptation. Jump into Index 2 with Railgun T next. First half of Railgun T and the first half of Index 2 occur at the same time with more events expanded out in T. The next half of Railgun T comes in timeline wise in between in end of Index 2 and 3. Accelerator season 1 would be next and like the second half of Railgun T takes place in between Index 2 and 3 with some characters being in both second half T and in Accelerator. The Index movie could slide next into watch order followed by the third season of Index finishing off the first main series of arcs in the light novel franchise covering the first 22 novels with all of these shows. There is a following 22 lights novels which follows next called A Certain Magical Index: New Testament and after that the next series of Index novels which follow and are coming out in Japan called A Certain Magical Index: Genesis which as 2 so far out to date. This beloved franchise has been around since 2004 with the first light novel and is Japan's best selling light novel franchise with over 80 million sold worldwide. Touma and Mikoto are always in the top light novel character polls. Which Mikoto is called the light novel Queen with her popularity in Japan being #1 except with 2 years since 04'. If you stick all the way though you'll be satisfied and hoping for more.

I remember you asking about the power system in the railgun reaction. for railgun it’s strictly science based powers that are all utilized using extremely complicated math. like vector manipulation (calculate the speed/direction etc.) and teleportation (calculate 11th dimensional math). for index it’s a magical power system based on real religion/folklore. powers and weapons are all taken out of religions like christianity, buddhism, etc. their power system is (in my opinion) top 3. it’s pretty complicated and VERY unique.

Recently finished the series, here's the order I followed:- Index 1 Railgun 1 Index 2 Railgun S [Timeline of mid index 1] Accelerator Index 3 Railgun T [Timeline of index 2] Also, go for the sub. The dub is okay, but there are some specific moments like a certain someone's laugh which could never be reproduced by the dub.

I watched the series in the English Dub, its actually pretty decent, but I loved it alot, and if you watched it in sub, it's still great, but Accelerator in Sub is voiced by Bakugo (MHA) and Karma (Assassination Classroom)

Can't say anything about dub vs sub, I always prefer sub, but I didn't here anything bad about dub, so it should be good enough. About the order to watch, I would advice to watch it in release order, even if they are not in chronological order, they are in a logical order and to watch it in chronological order will be a little confusing and would only recommend this when watching a 2nd time. If nevertheless interested in the chronological order, there is a video on youtube titled "How to watch the To Aru Anime [Spoiler-Free]" and it exactly explains the the right order until index season 3, I think.

From index 2 to index 3, I believe that a decade has passed, or close to. This series is so good, it's just a shame that the animation quality isn't always given it's all, and season 3 was adapted poorly. But Railgun has always been consistent with animation, and adaptation quality has been great. Also, with the dub/sub, I've watched both, and they are both pretty good. However, Accelerator is voiced by the same person who voices Bakugo in MHA (for sub), so it is always fun listening to him, but you can just watch clips on KZbin for that. Also, Railgun T is currently airing if you were unaware.

I would say watch the First 9 Episode of Index to come in the world then watch Railgun s1 and Railgun s then back to Index and watch the First and second Seasion. Then can you watch Accelerator or Index 3 and at least Railgun t nur Railgun t plays time in Index s2 and Accelerator between s1 and s2 of Index .
