The horse I am riding was gaiting. I am an English rider that was never taught on how to ride a gaited horse. I was only told to keep the reins very short and hands high. Not my style. 4 weeks me riding the horse. The horse goes now on a loose rein, no tight reins, but the horse now trots during warm up and gaits later. Then I watched Ivy’s videos. I changed my riding style. Longer walking warm up. Straight line during warm up , no curves , because then the horse will trot. High hands and release right away. And voila I got him to gait but with the loose relaxed style and not the tight rein. Thank you Ivy!!!!

Ivy, I love your teachings so much! I worked with Kazakh gaited horses/Kazakh walkers in China and they are severely abused by many. Long ago I was against gaiting until I found you. You saved me from the misconception and veiw the breed differently, and embrace the different gaits. I had a lease Kazakh gaited mare I love her so much. She is a sweetheart and she's now with a new rider working on gaited shows. No hobbles, no long shank bits, no saddles sitting on her kidneys, no wire bits, no weighed shoes, this mare works in a natural way with a beautiful topline. I saw her new rider doing a gaited dressage…That's just straight up amazing. Thank you. You are amazing.

Ivy, I am pretty sure you’ve mentioned this before, what I am wanting to create some good ground poles to help my pacey guy. What material, length, and width would recommend? Happy Holidays!
