There is another segment that highlights the genius of Željko Obradović, which couldn't be part of this analysis as it took place in the second quarter. During the first quarter, Olympiacos' centers were causing significant problems for Partizan, as Davies and Tyrique couldn’t match the size of Fall and Milutinov. So, what does Željko Obradović do? He brings Balša Koprivica (2.16m) off the bench - a player who, up to that point in the EuroLeague season, hadn’t played nearly as many minutes as he would in this game. Koprivica had played substantial minutes in the ABA League this season and performed exceptionally well. Many critics had questioned Obradović for not giving him more opportunities in the EuroLeague. But people can be quite funny at times, thinking Obradović doesn’t know what he’s doing. Let’s not forget that from last year’s Partizan team, Obradović kept only Koprivica. It’s true that Koprivica had received more opportunities in previous seasons, but due to the pressure and expectations, he often ended up either injured or sick. In the second quarter of the game, Koprivica shifted the momentum in Partizan's favor, completely neutralizing Fall and significantly limiting Milutinov. Some might argue that Koprivica didn’t have an outstanding game in terms of scoring, but what he did on both ends of the court was remarkable. Unfortunately, some controversial refereeing decisions prevented him from spending even more time on the floor.

Nice analysis baskethead although you don't really explain why Partizan won the game. The diamond defense yes was delaying the offense of Olympiacos. But which offense exactly? When Vezenkof is missing, Fournier has serious health problem before the match and was really exhausted, Goss had his worst game since he came back to Olympaicos, McKissic couldn't score a thing and the whole team of Olympiacos after starting with 5/5 3point shots they forwarded the game with 2/26 3points. In the second half most of the 3 points that Olympiacos tried where open looks. I don't think that anyone believes that this percentage has something to do with Partizan defense. I am not saying that the diamond was bad and eventually this what Zots wanted to achieve. He wanted to slow the pace of the game and he succeded. What you are not saying is that Olympiacos has a core of players that can play this kind of basket(slow pace) too. It's not something new. So the real cause of Olympiacos defeat was the very poor performance of the guards. But to clarify something that is being circulated in Greece and you seem to embrace yourself too(being Greek it's normal to do so). I am not including Walkup and Vildoza in the equation that had a very good game. You just disrespect Walkup(and again you are not the only one). You are referring to him as a below average shooter!!! Do you really know his percentage in 3s this year? Do you really know his percentage as a spot shooter especially from the sides? You should know. Maybe you know and you consider 40% as an average number for shooting 3s. Come on man! Of course they will risk Walkup shooting but that is not a genius move and for sure Walkup is not an average spot shooter. I agree for the fighting spirit and the will to win form Partizan side but I am expecting better things from you in terms of analysis.

Hey man, I’m really glad you liked the video, and I appreciate your detailed comment! But honestly, the only one being disrespectful here is you towards me, saying I embrace the Greek opinion (not sure what you mean by that - do you think I can't shape my own view on the game?). I love Walkup as a player (just like I love Calathes), but I don’t get why saying he’s a below-average shooter is disrespectful (he’s around a 30% shooter). Does he have to do everything perfectly? He’s an awesome defender and a great facilitator, but he’s missing one thing. So when I say in my Pana videos that their opponents target Nunn and Sloukas in off and on-ball screens on defense, am I being disrespectful? Now about the video, I focused on the 4th quarter and included some stuff from the whole match. I DO MENTION that Oly missed open shots and free throws (and they also made some crazy shots in the game, tbh). Overall, for a team with Olympiacos' caliber, there are no excuses. Even without Sasha, there was plenty of talent on the court to win the game (and they could have won with some better decisions and concentration). The roster's depth is incredible, so using that as an excuse is disrespectful to this team and the program.

Željko just outplayed Barzokas and that's the only truth. Throughout the game Željko played with 4 guards, small ball. Barzokas didn't know what was happening to him.

I am just saying you are harsh against Walkup and due to the fact that you know basket this justifies my opinion that you are biased towards him. You are correct and I dont know why you are biased, I cant assume that you embrace a widespead view in Greece. You know better the cause. The fact that you are distorting Walkup's numbers is the proof that you are biased. He is not around 30% shooter. He is 33% career , from the sides in spot shoot he is way more than that and this year he is 40%. He is not a classic shooter but he is not below average as you say. He is not Bakatsias!! If you said that Goss this year is below average that would be way more accurate!!! Would you say the same thing about Lorenzo Brown? I expect you wouldn't. Furthermore I did not focus on your saying that Partizan risked Walkup shots. I stayed in the part that you classify him as below average shooter along with the fact that you thought that this was a great approach(genious move) from them which was really nothing special. Just a calculated risk that all teams will try. With regard to Nunn and Sloukas did you say that they are below average defenders? No you didn't because they are not. They are above average. They are just being targeted mainly due their size not mainly for their defensive skills. At least Nunn. They are not like Grant but at the same time they are not like Dorsey! If you read again you will understand that my conclusion is that Olympiacos is responsible for losing the game besides all the negative accumulated factors with regard to injuries (fournie,Sasha,Wright). The poor performance of the guards was the main factor. If Olympiacos didn't have the injury problems then even with poor performance from the specific guards they would have easily won this game. On the other hand are you aware of many teams besides Olympiacos that can cope with injuries of their main weapons? Can you imagine Pana without Lessort or Nunn? What about Real without Campaco? Furthermore you are stressing the fact that Olympiacos made some shots late in the clock and at the same time you did not pay attention at all on how Olympiacos dominated the game in 2 periods. Was your goal to proove that Olympiacos was lucky in his shooting??? Hahaha. No! I suppose you wanted to stress how good the defense of Partizan was. I smell some bias here too.

Totally agree. Baskehead analysis is very nice but doesn't really tell the truth. Olympiacos lost the game because they had a very poor shooting night. Partizan took advantage of this and and of some referee inventions. Especially the unsportman like foul was given only because it was requested by Obradovic. Pure comedy foul!!! This foul changed the momentum and woke up the fans too.
