Singer, actor, musician and producer SP Balasubramaniam was born on 4 June 1946 in Sinhapuri, Nellore, a beautiful city situated on the banks of Penna River in Andhra Pradesh.
His full name was Sripati Panditharadyul Balasubramaniam, his father SP Sambamurthy was a Hari Katha artiste, known for acting in Telugu plays. After his initial studies, Bala took admission in JNTU College of Engineering, Anantapur, because he wanted to become an engineer. But due to typhoid, Balasubramaniam had to leave his studies midway. During this period, he also participated in many singing competitions and won many awards. After this he realized that he could make his career in this field.
His hard work paid off and on 15 December 1966, he debuted as a playback singer in the Telugu film "Sri Sri Sri Maryada Ramanna". Balasubramaniam never had any formal training in classical singing, yet few people can reach the heights he reached in the field of music.
In the year 1969, his song "Iram Nilve Va.." in MGR's film "Aadimai Pain" got a lot of popularity. Just before the recording of this song, Balu was suffering from typhoid. He was extremely disappointed by this, but MGR did not back down, he was determined to give a chance to SP Balasubramaniam, and delayed the shoot until the SP recovered from typhoid.
In 1969 itself, Balu got a chance to record his first Tamil song "Eerakayi Ennum, Ilai Kanni..", in this film Tamil superstar Gemini Ganesan was in the lead role. SP Balasubramaniam got international recognition from the 1980 film "Sankarabharanam", in which he received his first National Award for singing.

किशोर दा के बाद मेरे नैना सावन भादो को कुमार सानू अभिजीत सोनू निगम सभी ने वो महान जादू बिखेरने की कोशिश तो करी लेकिन जब बालाजी की आवाज मे उस गीत को सुनो तो सुनते रह जाओगे. किशोर दा जैसे all rounder सिंगर केवल बालाजी ही बन पाए. 90s मे इनकी आवाज को मैं सलमान की ही आवाज समझता था क्या धूम मचाई इनके मधुर आवाज भरे गीतों ने की 90s और 80s की biggest blockbuster सलमान और बालाजी के नाम ही हो गयी ❤️❤️👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
