I love how Ernie, clearly a homeless individual who is clearly having a tough time, is just so quiet and soft spoken. He seems like a total sweetheart and I hope he gets the help he needs, free of charge. (Edit: I know it’s a show, that doesn’t change the fact that there is a real life crisis regarding homeless individuals, may all who need help receive it free of charge.)

@ I can’t tell if this is supposed to be satire or an actual dig on homeless individuals. While yes I understand that there are many homeless people out there who are homeless due to alcohol or drug addictions, there are also many homeless individuals who are veterans of war, there are many homeless individuals who are victims of harsh diseases who didn’t have family or funds to fall upon. Not all homeless individuals are the same, most are simply people who made bad choices, or who fell on hard times. It’s not fair to judge others on a circumstance such as homelessness because it is such a harsh circumstance to get out of. Not to mention some people can unfortunately be born in to homelessness! What I’m trying to say here is that we should stop demonizing homelessness, and instead offer aid and support. Most modern homeless shelters are overrun and under funded, so instead of investing millions in hostile architecture, how about we invest millions in cheaper housing options, homeless shelters, and anonymous addiction support centers. I think we should take a page from the great late actor Robin Williams who often hired homeless individuals to be extras in movies. He paid them full salaries and dedicated time to helping them get back on their feet. At the end of the day they are people just as you and me.

In my area you get billed by the Hospital, the Doctor, the Nurse(s), the lab, and the pharmacy....all separate bills. If you need x-rays, MRI, or CT scan, that's a separate bill from radiology as well....and the kicker, the more nurses that walk into your room, the larger that bill gets. @@moonpiepeden298 It's all completely legal. The hospital only bills for facility usage. The nurses all work for a medical staffing company. The doctors are all essentially "private practice". @@Elaini.Young24 The hospital DOES set the price. You are actually full of shit. It's not determined by insurance. Insurance can deny the claim, but hospitals still jack the rates for insurance holders. Crazy that it's literally cheaper to pay cash than have insurance ran because the hospital has no problem jacking rates for insurance carriers so that insurers can feel good by providing "discounts" when in reality the bill wasn't actually decreased at all. No one paid anything but the customer. Fuck private insurers but don't act like hospitals aren't part of the issue. They literally decide what to bill their client's insurance company at the end of the day. If insurance decides your cost then explain how the bill isn't from my insurance company...
