I love that she mentioned they chose a big family and the responsibilities of providing for a big family. All too often to you see large families with little to no means of supporting themselves continuing to have 10+ children and struggling beyond what they really should be if the parents just reconsidered a few aspects of their lives.
@Elizabethsceg3 жыл бұрын
That’s actually not something you see “too often”. It’s very rare even for Americans to have large families especially in the realm of 10+ children. What’s more common is to see parents with 1-3 children with no biological father in the home.

@@racheladams9364 Our country has plummeting birth rates. It’s uncommon to have large families now. There are still women who have multiple children who don’t care for them, but usually that’s women and men who have multiple partners in their lives and don’t live according to morals. Nuclear families are statistically safer and better for children even when it comes to large families. There’s a stigma against large families when the stigma should be against promiscuity and having children with random people.

I had two friends in high school who were the oldest of super large families. One of them still doesn't like children (we're all early 50's now). The other had ONE and that was an accident. Both had mothers who treated the oldest daughter as if she were the mother. It was sad. My family is like that. My grandma was one of 13 kids. Her and most of her siblings had kids, and then those ones had kids (my generation), now my generation are having kids. We used to always catch up in a house on sundays, but that got too small. Then we used to catch up in a massive hall someone in the family owned, but then it got too small. Then we moved to a big function centre that yet another family member owned, but it got too small. Now we have so many people in the family that we don't always know everyone's names (and some people look too similar its easy to mix them up). Now its accepted at weddings and christenings etc. that no one can invite everyone, so we don't get offended if not everyone can come along. To think we are all related to my great grandma and great grandpa is pretty cool. There is easily hundreds of us descendents now!
