@@StMargorach It's from one of the Gathering Storm books, 3rd one I believe. There was a huge fight inside Guilliman's throne room, which during that time Cawl and Yvraine were busy trying to revive him. Once he woke up, everyone in the room stopped fighting, chaos and imperium both, and just stared in awe that a primarch has been awakened. That silence was broken by a random khorne berzerker who randomly charged at Guilliman, only to be cut in half by the Emperor's sword. Then he proceeds to punch a chaos terminator through a few pillars and continue fighting until the room was clear. His first words he spoken in over 10k years was him asking for a sitrep from the ultramarines on the current battle.

I actually always wondered what would happen when somebody really high on the Necron Tier List would face off a Daemon Primarch. Like - The Necrons basically have even a planet big Thingy which turns Chaos Energy into real matter and produces Necron War Engines out of it. While a loyalist Primarch could probaly beat up or at least stand a chance, but a Chaos Primarch would probaly get his ass kicked pretty hard while even gettin' laughend at. "Should I keep you as a Toy, or send you back to the Wrap Creature you wrongly consider a *God* ? A creature, created by beings we fought, killed and banished in the deepest depths of time. Szarekh is hilarious. He shouldn't be, but he is. He erased most superweapons from the War in Heaven (things like World Engines, which I'd consider the Necron analog to a blackstone fortress, or that one planetoid which appeared and disappeared, which kinda seems like a listening station) from the mind of every necron, and he probably has them stored away. And now he just uses diplomacy to fight off nids. He's so hilariously devoted to not genociding anything that isn't a tyranid or a chaos god while keeping an array of planet killing weapons god knows where

To be honest, it may in the best interest of the Imperium to hold a truce with the Necrons. The Necrons is a hard counter to the Imperium’s two primary threats, being Chaos and Nids. This of course carries major risks since this time will be used to further awaken the Necrons and build up their forces and eventually overrun their former allies once the time is right. It ultimately comes down to whether or not the Imperium can defeat it’s more immediate threats without the Necrons.

After devouring most of the eldar pantheon and killing 99% of the eldar that worshipped Khaine, Khaine got off his ass and fought Slaanesh, who was at he/she/it's most powerful (because of the recent eldar snack) to a standstill. Khorne then got excited because he would finally have a worthy opponent. Khorne then preceeded to smack Khaine into the thousands of shards he exists in now. The silent King probaly would kinda like the Emporer and the G-Man even, seein' them a.) a Chance to defeat the Tyrannids, b.) see in them an Ally to completly seal off the Wrap from the real world and c.) see them as possibilty to get livin' Bodies back which are nearly immortal. I mean, a good part of the Necron Faction is depicted as Dudes which actually do kinda want to return to the "living" - besides of the big chunk of arrogant killin' Maschines. But if the silent King actually returns to "save the Galaxy against the Tyrannids", I would guess he kinda also wants for his people to get normal Bodies again. And the Necrons already nearly sealed of the Wrap once although due to their state, they could - theoretically - end the whole Chaos Treat together with Big E and his knowledge about the wrap. Which is overall the reason the Necrons and Big E wont never work together because then 40k would be over.

The Silent King himself was more keen on Sanguinius and, by extension, Dante and the other Blood Angels. @@khorneflakes4446 Yes and no, same goes for Old One Eye. Swarm lords technically get resurrected through the hive mind, their memories being passed to a new swarm lord when they are killed. Kind of unique considering the rest are just dungeon mobs with no real sense of direction without the hive mind or a swarm lord present to lead them.

To be fair on the Traitors, Loyalist Primarchs are all either missing, dead or out of action. To see any Loyalist Primarch return at all would be a huge deal since we only know of 2 who weren't missing or dead.

The problem with chaos is that it doesn't gain anything from actually winning except starvation. The status quo from 30K to 40K was actually the greatest time for chaos. This is because they built their armies in a way that they could fight through attrition in order to feed as long as possible. However now that they broke the status quo, atrittion is no longer the rule of the game. Now they actually have to win in order to survive and time is against them, since the imperium gets stronger and stronger the longer Guilliman runs it. They seriously need to reform their atrittion strategy, before they get overwhelm by Primaris and Guilliman's love for logistics.

Fenris system got razed, the planet of the sorcerers got translocated to real space, and the real space kingdom of Magnus is growing at a rapid rate, conquering countless systems. 2. Cadia fell, no matter what way, it still fell, and with it's fall chaos claimed thousands upon thousands of worlds. Rifts consumed countless systems and the eye expanded very far, cutting those systems and giving chaos an all you can eat buffet. 3. The Imperium never recovered in the ten thousand years before the return of Guilliman, it further regressed and lost more and more territories (either to chaos or self made crisises like the age of Apostasy). Only now were they recovering because of the Primaris and Guilliman. The Imperium also had ten thousand years and did nothing but fail. 4. Chaos never lost anything, it is the Imperium who kept losing territory and people. The fact that Magnus even got close to Terra itself just shows how shitty the Imperium is. 5. Name a dead chaos deamon primarch in 40k era, zero, they get revived by their god and are just banished, but one fatal damage to a loyalist means either their death or comatose state. A revived Guilliman died from the godblight, and was just ressurected by the Emperor. The Emps can't revive him forever and just shows how loyalist primarchs are surrounded by countless threats that can easily kill them, while the 41k Demon Primarchs are immune to such deaths or threats. When loyalist Primarchs die they stay dead (until GW magics their way to revive them), or they stay comatose for thousands of years if they get fatally wounded. 6. Chaos never wants to win, they want chaos to endure forever. Chaos isn't entirely self consuming, despite the lies and fanfics being told.

The necrons are probably so arrogant and indifferent because they don’t even know what a Primarch is. Only trayzn would know anything about them and the potential threat they pose( he’s the only one to not only interact with one, but he also has the clone of fulgrim in his collection). Funny enough of all of the xeno races other then the eldar the orks would probably have the greatest knowledge of the Primarchs. They do seem to pass down information verbally when it comes to historical events. There are probably some stories about the kinda good fight one could get out of these super humies.

I'd love to see Guilliman and the Silent King of the Necrons meet. Not just for the epic fight, but for the possibility that the two leaders of two of the strongest factions in the setting actually negotiate with each other. Maybe even agree to something similar to an armistice. There will still be clashes at times between the races for obvious reasons, but their attention would be more focused on the Tyranids and Chaos than each other, with the understanding that they'll go back to fully killing each other after the other threats have been dealt with.

There's hope in Xelee and a decent amount of it. What makes 40K Grimdark is that humanity is slowly losing while there's gore, torture, betrayal, etc. en mass. Other universes can have this, but that doesn't make it Grimdark, otherwise StarWars, StarTrek, and Evey other sci-fi universe would pretty much be classified as Grimdark. Grimdark is a theme, and Xelee isn't it.

Yes! The necron thing would be amazing for both reasons you said, plus it would be so dope to have an official alliance between the necrons and the imperium, especially because the silent king doesn't care about anything other than destroying the tyranids, so a cooler thing would be if Guilliman loses to the tyranids and before he is killed the silent king claps them, still showing his strength and the fact that bobby isn't immortal, this would also be a good reason to have the tyranids get a bite out of him, then before he is killed fully they are clapped .
