I'm gonna hold off and hope they either make a budget version or run a sale. I find the knife appealing, but it's just a bit more expensive than I'm willing to go.
@JesseCohen8 күн бұрын
Likewise. This was looking like a great fifth pocket knife, but at $230? The Cub in the same materials is on sale at $152, normally $190. Was the additional engineering that tricky? Anyway, looks like a great little example of utility and compact carry. Let’s see if there is a drop in price, or a budget steel version down the road.

@Smatnm8 күн бұрын
When I was a lad (too many years ago now to want to remember), my first visit to a knife shop with my dad, resulted in looking at Cold Steel knives (Ultralock, Voyager Lockback etc). Most were too expensive for a 13 year old…..except for the Ready Edge and the Hai Hocho. I ended up coming away with the Hai Hocho, but always wanted a Ready Edge. The bottle opener is so like the Ready Edge, it’s brought all that back.
@stevensmith94968 күн бұрын
Since I've been watching your channel I've picked up a lot of the knives I thought were appealing and a good value. Been wanting a Demko for a long time, but was a little hesitant about their price. That changed a few days ago when I went on their site and saw the 20.5 in S35VN and G10 on sale for $150. Got it a few days later, and I love it. I think that's a great price for what you're getting.

Want Didn't think I would, but demko keep proving me wrong. Still waiting for a 20/20.5 with the handle profile of the cub though.
@just99118 күн бұрын
So much this. I absolutely hate the standard grip on the 20 & 20.5. That “beak” on the end of the handle ruins the ergonomics. Granted, I have freakishly large hands (XXL gloves are rather snug and it’s basically impossible to find anything bigger) so it’s a given I wouldn’t like it. However, I have normal-sized friends that don’t like how the beak crowds the grip (especially when using a saber grip).

This is basically the AD22.5. I like the size of the original custom AD22 that this is based on. This one seems a little small for me. The AD22 just feels so good in hand. Perfect size and ergos.

I'd like one of these, but that price point is just a bit too steep for what it is. I have a Spyderco Lil Native, similar size and IMO looks like probably better ergos. Same steel and a compression lock, and it ran me $150. I love 5th pocket sized knives like these, but even for Made in Taiwan, that price is a little much.

I think that ultra-thin blades under 3 inches lack the heft to be easily deployed and manipulated. Demko seems to have caught on to the idea that if you're going to make a fidget friendly, short folding knife, the blade needs to have a bit of weight to it. I like this version.

You'd probably hate my collection, because I have an insane amount of little (under 2.8") knives! I absolutely live tiny folders. It's much more difficult for a tiny folder to have good action, so that's one of the reasons I love my tiny custom folders. The custom makers have to put more time, patience, and thought into them. Almost all of my folders are considered small or tiny... and I have hundreds. When it comes to my fixed blades I'm the opposite. They're pretty much all big and burly, with the exception of all the different Alan Folts Minimalists I have, with many being huge hahaha.

Everything he said about Taiwan manufacturing for Spyderco is definitely true that is the highest level of their production I do disagree with one part though when he's talking about the China Spydercos being done as garbage I don't agree with that the byrd 2 line is well done knives for the price, the normal China Spydercos are done decently as well but over priced. But I'm sorry anyone that thinks the mid locks are poor done garbage considering they are 25ish dollars is just wrong. Those knives are very well built considering the price and perform surprisingly well.
