i have seen someone make oscilloscope music on the fly, literally applying voltages over different channels and resistors and shit, and that was crazy. and he just takes 20 voices, and makes something even crazier. i am a pentaholic, so i know layering can do some sick stuff, but just what and those trance bits.. trance always gets me. it is the only music that actually sends me into that headspace. i love very many types of music but trance, especially vocal trance just does things to my brain i dont even understand

The fact that we can literally watch you build the music is what I think most people don't understand. They either don't grasp the systems involved or simply don't care how music is made. This is music broken down into it's most basic concepts and pushed into our ears via methods most people simply can't grasp at a fundamental level.

I've watched you for years and years, long before the beardytron. Seeing this evolution is like watching you start a song from nothing then build up to such madness that you don't even know what to do with it anymore. I don't think there is a single artist that becomes his/hers music as you do. It feels and looks like it consumes you like a T virus or something. Never stop man, I hope your 90 with just gums making strange noises will huffing on o2. Not that I wish that kinda old broken life for anyone but hey we all end up broken somehow right lol. much love.
@Puschit13 жыл бұрын
While his development is amazing, I somehow miss the old times where he was goofing around with is Kaos Pads, VirtualVinyl and other "low key" contraptions and especially his interactive sessions with audiences that threw music genres and themes at him and did some vocals and Beardy had to use that and create a song instantly. You know, the time around MonkeyJazz. For one, the resulting music was just more accessible. But even more importantly: I understood what he was doing and could follow him. Now he pushing buttons on a machine he built himself and it seems like the sounds come out of nowhere, could as well be premade - we would not be able to tell the difference. I mean, compare this here to his old video about his duck: watch?v=39n4wow8fWE and you probably know what I mean. What-you-see-is-what-you-hear, you were part of the process of him creating a unique song and you could comprehend what he was doing. Now is more like freaked out screensaver the throws the trippiest music at you but without any engagement of the watcher because Beardy has transcended into something else. At some point he will become the matrix or something. He might literally go mad at some point and I don't say this as a joke.
@bfg16373 жыл бұрын
@@Puschit1 agreed on most parts. I would imagine what was is just kinda boring and easy now. Kinda like a stand up comedian always sticking to the same skit. I could listen to a 2 hour live performance without blinking once upon a time vs now I don't know if my brain could handle that many heavy build up's leading to as you say madness (internal or external lol). One just has to sit back and watch the not so bearded beast transform endlessly. One thing I think that keeps me tuning in is how much I feel his connection to what he does. It's truly a honest expression, regardless of it all being made on the spot or not. Fact is he makes shit on the spot that takes most if not all like minded/crafted music makers days, weeks, or even months for a track. I've never seen a mind more curated for on the spot music. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. :)
@meeperator2 жыл бұрын
@@Puschit1 I understand what you mean about the earlier eras being more accessible, and I'd say that was both from technical limitations, and Beardy still learning what exactly he wanted to create from his mind. What I've always seen from Beardy is that he can hear the music in his head, in the moment, and it's a matter of being able to have an instrument of sorts to be able to allow him to play it. Back in his early beatbox days, his best device to express his thoughts was his mouth, but over time, he's been able to create a setup that has become muscle memory levels of cohesion with his mind. The VFX are weird and all, and are for fun. But as for his music, he finally seems to have been able to create a device that allows him to express his mind in a matter of milliseconds, the way nothing before was able to accomplish. I don't think it was ever about familiar sounds, simple beatbox, and Kaoss pad distortion... it's always been an evolution of tech to give his inner voice a "literal" speaker.
