As a fellow, albeit nowhere near as talented, guitarist I am compelled to comment on the beautiful necks of your guitars. I know many players who wouldn't dream of removing the dirt and grime that build up on them however yours are so clean! Thank you for so many years of touching and fun music. I saw you many times at the Birchmere and at the Barns at Wolf Trap back in the 90's and early 2000's. One of my personal favorites is from Nightshift Watchman, Come Away to Sea, which sadly, never got to hear you perform live.

This was my first David Wilcox album and, probably my fav. Love him. LOVE THIS ALBUM. If you have never seen David in concert, you are missing something special. I sing and play guitar, so, this album really touched my heart. Thank you, David, for doing this.

I first heard this in college in 1995. I met David at a concert at UNCG as our campus ministry group helped him unload and set up for a concert on campus. Years later, Language of the Heart became my wedding song. This troubadour has locked a special place in my life and his words and music have been part of my life’s soundtrack. Thank you David!

Three years later, I find this video. Wow. Like others, this was my introduction to you AND one of my first intro's to the magic of acoustic guitars. Thank you for a decade of this love.

The CHAT replay has me nodding to each line... yeah, me, too... By the way, was this really three years ago? Does he STILL see us?!! Because I'm taking a break at Side 2 and HE CATCHES ME. Ah well... my club watchings of him containing clinking glasses, almost none were ever in percussive time.

Speaking of 'voicing a guitar' - I love the string-growl of RUSTY OLD AMERICAN DREAM on the record.. Neil Young does this on his TELL ME WHY (After The Gold Rush's opening track) as well. I've never heard it done better - congrats to your producer and recording engineer - AND your excellent guitar skills.

I heard David Wilcox for the first time on the Mountain Stage on WAMU ('88 I think) while working in my Grandmother's garage.. hooked from then on. So of course many of these songs were played on that show... never get old, beautiful

It was probably my second year of college (1994?) when I heard your music for the first time played by a guy I had just met at a retreat. He played "how did you find me Here?" and "Hold it up the Light" The music was so captivating that when he told me who the artist was I just had to buy the albums. Have been listening ever since. Even sang "How did you find me here" at church once. I don't know if that song was meant to have a religious undertone but there are many aspects that remind me of different passages. Almost 30 years later, this album is still at the very top of my favorites list

I've been listening to you David, since 1988. First time in Minneapolis, the old (long gone) Guthrie Theatre.... I've enjoyed your guitar, voice, smile, stories and Spirit for over 30 years now. I bid you a humble thank you. Blessings.

David, if you read this, I can't express how very much your music has meant to me over the years. The lyrics capture feelings and situations that no other songs ever talk about. I saw you perform live in California, I think it was around 1995, there were very few people in the massive theater but you played anyway. I went backstage and met you. Thank you a million times, thank you. I am so grateful.

I saw you at Warehouse Tapes and Records on Tchoupitoulas in New Orleans in 90' maybe, just you and your guitar and 3-4 capos, standing on a 6" high box in the middle of the store, no cover, no fanfare, just excellent music and grateful fans. You didn't play long, but it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen.
