It's like she just told Cinderella to rest (since she basically DOES every chore everyday), which she definitely deserves and it isn't really that favoritism. Also, Cinderella is still dressed in a maid outfit while the step sisters are in dresses so it's safe to say nothing changed much except that Cinderella isn't being abused.

She wouldn’t actually need the fairy god mother fr, since this mother is partly mean. There’s a chance that they at least won’t rip her dress that the birds helped make or she’ll just be let go. Removing the entire magical aspect of the story. there’s also a chance that Prince Charming just won’t notice Cindy at the ball because in the original story he noticed her bc the magic outfit stood out, especially the shoes!! It’s mainly the dress tearing that triggers her to run away and summons the fairy godmother, but there’s also a chance that the step mother will buy her a new dress-.. Im just saying that thoughts, I’m wondering how your AU story would go?
