The problem might not even be Disney’s input but rather having access to the full MCU toolkit. A significant chunk of the movie happens in a beige void where everyone is dead so there are no consequences. Thanks for listening! ~Reuben

Obviously we’re playing to a the algorithm a bit with the title. But we were talking about this just the other day and we do think that the Deadpool movies were best when they were fighting to get made and had a bit of that indie mentality (if not indie budget). Disney hating was once valid, but sometimes it's getting out of control, like a compulsion to just automatically spew hate at disney. Deadpool and Wolverine was a masterpiece, but then deadpool and wolverine are probably my two favorite marvel movie characters. They just had to "be wolverine, and be deadpool," and I was gonna like it.

I think this is probably true. The movie was broadly well-received and the MCU can and likely will take both of these characters in whatever direction serves the meta-narrative. But equally, I don’t think the broader public is clamouring for a return of either character right now. ~Reuben
