I deployed to Iraq in 2009 and I’m telling you that placed humbled the hell out of me. I drove a gun truck doing convoy security so I drove through these tiny little villages and towns and seeing how some people lived was shocking to see especially at such a young age cause I was only 19…It changed the way I think and certainly how I viewed things…America is far from perfect and we most definitely have a lot that we need to work on BUT we are so lucky over here. We are so so so so lucky compared to so many other people that were born other places….Sending love and positive vibes to all of you 💜

HOW then can they literally JUMP over centuries and live in European or American cities, adapt to hygiene/health/cleanliness rules or industrial working schedule and exigencies when they come to Europe or America as migrants???

Many years ago, when I was a young girl of just 14, I visited Alexandria in Egypt. Whilst there I witnessed some of the worst crushing poverty and destitution I have ever witnessed. I saw people with leprosy walking the streets, noses, cheeks and fingers missing. I saw starving children with sunken eyes desperately begging for a single piece of fruit from sellers who savagely kicked at them and chased them off. But one image has stuck in my mind for all these years, more than any other. There was a middle-aged woman standing on the corner of the street with her arms gently folded across her chest. She was standing, quietly surveying all the locals and tourists rushing past her. She had on only one shoe, black stockings that were seriously more holes than nylon, a blouse which had once been white but was now a grey-brown colour and a cardigan that was covered in holes. I could tell she had been pretty once, but now had the wrinkles and battle weary expression of a woman who had seen far too much. What struck me the most though was the look on the lady's face and ill tell you I was instantly floored...In my life I have never seen anyone as calmly proud and absolutely certain of themselves as this lady was. She clearly had nothing, not even a full pair of shoes but she had her dignity and pride, two things which could never be taken from her. She saw me staring so I smiled at her and she flashed me back the most beautiful smile, full of joy. The people in this video remind me of that glorious lady from years ago. I hope she made it and lived the rest of her days in peace.

My first instinct was to feel sorry for them, but then I realized they are blessed because they have one another... when the young woman awoke with a smile on her face that told me everything I needed to know... the children are happy, fun loving kids like all kids should be. They know their chores and responsibilities to the family. God puts us where we need to be... it's humbling to see this family making life the gift it is. Big families can either be a blessing or a burden, it's all in how you choose to see it. I pray they will be blessed with good fortune and abundance, as well as good health all of their days.

People are living in Bamiyan's caves bc they cannot afford housing and/or have been displaced by the Taliban. Afghanistan has been dealing with one of the world's largest and worst humanitarian crisises since 2021, with over 23 million ppl (2/3rds the population) needing assistance/protection and 7 million are on the brink of famine. Family and support is important but your comment shows a complete lack of awareness of these ppl's suffering. No god put them in this situation and this isn't where they need/want to be; this is the result of 40+ yrs of war, mismanagement, international meddling and brutal opposition by the Taliban.

Our children are all adults with their own children now. Just my husband and myself and we have chosen a very simple way of living. We bought a small farmstead. We raise our own food and have no debt (no credit cards)except for our mortgage which is over half paid for. We forage many berries (now fall grapes) and use our land wisely so it continues to support our lifestyle in the future. We chose this life 20 years ago when we rented a home while saving to buy one. We have four used cars all paid for, we have owned new cars in the past but it’s not worth the hard stressful work to own them. We enjoy the wildlife around our home, birds, foxes, coyotes, and bears. They are our entertainment. We lack for nothing. Today we had white beans with salt pork along with bread. Delicious. Simple.

I’m so tired of hearing this from you Americans visit some of the poor areas in America. I’m disabled so was my mom and my daughter a severe asthmatic. I was living in and out of hospitals many times a week for 15 years battling all our conditions. And not being able to work made us homeless many times no help from the Gov. There is none but stamps no housing it was torture when we’d be homeless. You ppl in America that have health and never faced any hardship or weren’t poor are so out of touch with your fellow poor Americans. You have no idea how much poor Americans suffer in America so stop with the bs of Americans don’t know how good we have it. Do you know how many Americans don’t have running water or sanitation in parts of VA and even in LA.

I enjoyed so much watching this family wake up and start their day, cook and eat breakfast together. It is such a beautiful way to live esp compared to mornings in most American households where everyone wakes up in separate rooms, usually to alarm clocks, forced to wake up unnaturally, then hurry to leave the house to go to work and school, maybe eating breakfast together but usually something made in a factory, a box of cereal etc…distracted by looking at phones, parents and children often feeling stressed, rushed, grumpy, rushing out the door to leave home to spend the day apart at school and jobs no one really wants to do to pay insanely high prices for rent and everything else. Parents stressed, children depressed. This is a much more healthy and natural and better paced way for humans to live.
