Those comparisons are not accurate as you’re mixing engine and chassis teams. Our chassis team in Brackley is very similar in size to the two companies in Milton Keynes (Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology). To compare with our engine team, you would need to add the number working at Honda!

Well, if you use TV footage, you might not get exactly what you want to show. Drivers get 1 shot to get a corner perfect, so a mistake might not work well for their demonstration. In a game, you can take the same corner multiple times with no issues and you can run the track solo. In the race, drivers also take different lines or brake at different points to conserve tires or fuel or to shorten their lap times. A simulation game is a controlled environment

Can you use servos to close and open the brake ducts to keep the cool air out on a track like Monaco so you can keep more of the heat in? So the servo being led by a temperature sensor and can also be overridden by a manual switch. So basically when it's getting too cold it keeps the cooling duct closed longer until the temperatures go up.

Was just thinking they could stall the airflow into the duct at higher speeds ie long straights but have a very nice flow at lower speeds for the technical sections. Keeps the brakes cool when you're using them a lot but doesn't let it cool too much when you aren't?

I’m sorry for bringing this up but I can’t help but wonder if Jules Bianchi had been so unfortunate to drive a Marussia car. According to FIA report: 7. During the 2 seconds Bianchi’s car was leaving the track and traversing the run-off area, he applied both throttle and brake together, using both feet. The FailSafe algorithm is designed to over-ride the throttle and cut the engine, but was inhibited by the Torque Coordinator, which controls the rear Brake-by-Wire system. Bianchi’s Marussia has a unique design of BBW, which proved to be incompatible with the FailSafe settings. I don’t know if it could have saved Jules had the FailSafe worked.

Well, that is new. Hands down to all the drivers. I honestly didnt knew that they didnt had a kind of braking assist like a brake servo on a normal road car. And even more that they need to brake with the right force so they dont go straight before a corner or locking up the wheels and risking to get a flat spot on their tires

The breaks actually were working fine. He still had the brake bias set way off

At 2:40, when Mike explains how important it is to handle brake temp., he says it's 1000 degree at end of straight... Shouldn't it be 1000 degree at end of curve? Just a doubt, maybe I'm wrong...

At the Monaco circuit, wouldn't it make sense to use a brake disc with more holes (less mass) since the speeds are low and it'll cool down easier, and at the Baku circuit, use a brake disc with less holes (more mass) since it would heat up and cool down slower?

Oh man. It was. I mean MB were dominating car industry a lot back in the days. From the 70s with the w123 w126 and the others, to the 80s and 90s with the w124 w201 w140. Everything went wrong from 1997 untill 2010ish. Have you heard of their engines from those days? The om606, thats called the diesel 2jz, and the m104, which the 2jz is based on. And many more.
