As an ESTP I can’t relate much to ESFPs. From my experience they tend to not take work seriously. I’ve struggled alot having ESFP in my uni or school projects. At work same thing. However after work i have a great time with them. I enjoy their company, as long as they aren’t my work partners.

ESTP baby! You’re real good dog! I have a hard time in connecting with my younger siblings as I always try to pry at them and make them stronger. It has taken a very long time to withdraw and lax on my constant test that I throw at them. I have learned to take a more mentor role in helping them.

I'm ISTP; but I can totally relate to the ESTP when it comes to, "Truth vs Lies or Faulsehood", as opposed to, "Good vs Bad or Evil" paradign. Because yep, "Anything can be 'Good' and anything can be 'Bad' -- it just depends what you DO with it -- but Truth is inexcusable and undeniable . . . Trust = Trust.

I've always tested ESTP, but recently realized how much I also relate to ESFP qualities. I definitely have a very logical mind, but I also definitely live and die by my moral compass. I'm told I'm cocky by family and can be selfish. I see weakness and do love to help/fix people. I have my wolf pack followers. I am 100% harsh and criticize to face to help people. I also want to always appear competent.

One thing about Ne demon - I believe that’s why ESxPs are accused of being selfish or whatever. My whole family accused me of being selfish when I was 13 and came back from a school trip abroad without any gifts/souvenirs in my bags. Like how would younger me know what they all wanted? I’m still extremely bad at gifts to this day ha. People confuse it with low empathy which couldn’t be further from the truth. With Ni inferior I can only help someone 1 on 1. Maybe. Possibly. On a good day when stars and planets are aligned and they’re talking about something I have figured out already. However - what the group wants? Dude I gave up long ago. When me and my friends are out I don’t even suggest anything anymore I just follow whoever is the ENFP. When me and my friends used to make it to the club and alcohol would kick in I would *always* disappear from the group and then come back in randomly to drink for a bit but if/when I run into girls, forget about friends. Like I’ve tried the whole bro’s before everything but well, I don’t understand what it is that the group of bro’s want and I’m totally oblivious to it. At least that makes me understand other demons in other people. Damn it sucks.

Start learning about self directed learning. I think one is on Amazon called the art of self directed learning. From there, Starr searching random things on wikipedia for an hour and see where it takes you as you bounce more and more between related concepts. Watch KZbin playlists and videos about topics you're interested in, then search amazon for books about that interest. Then look for communities and groups on facebook or wherever based around those interests.

ENTJs are often mistaken for ESTP. Like a certain orange president. ENTJs care about money and status. ESTJs too. ESTPs only care about the freedom money gives them to explore and make their dream experiences come true. I'd argue ESFPs with their Te child are actually much more likely to want money and fame for the status and reputation than ESTPs. ESFPs are deeply hurt when they have low status and people think they are unworthy of respect. ESTPs are deeply hurt when people think they're a bad person and nobody wants to be around them cos they make others feel bad

Also, Fi is super interesting. I believe this is why unhealthy ESFPs test as ExTJs. I’ve read on a Se-Te loop causing confusion with ENTJs specifically. I’ve been told many times I have no empathy and I even believed it and tested as ExTJs many times, even tho that was weird to me. I know very well if I’m doing good or bad. I can make others love me or hate me within a sec. It’s not like Fi inferior trying hard, participating to some charity event on weekends or whatever makes them feel better about whipping their employees 60 hours a week and wondering whether they’re good or bad. When in reality everybody’s shrugging them off as psychopaths. Unhealthy ESFPs know very well how others feel, combined with Se, it can’t be stopped. It’s like being in the matrix. Therefore if Fi is repressed because of XYZ plan, they’ll be viciously manipulative and go get what’s theirs and tell everyone else “just get over your feels”. Unhealthy ESFPs know they’re bad, they just decide to suppress it - Very high backfiring potential, losing all your friends etc. Whereas Fi tricksters are amusing in that department - they commit the worst crimes but because they’re praying to their God every night before bed then they’re clean. Like yeah ok nice try ExTPs, that’s definitely how it works, especially with Ne demon lol.

And a prime example of a suppressed-Fi ESFP trying to screw over a laughable-Fi ESTP is Neymar’s “rape” victim last summer. As a fellow ESFP, it was funny to watch what she was trying. Poor guy, if only wearing gold crosses and praying Jesus after scoring a goal admonished him of his sins

ESFPs find motivation to get great when they see high status (to them) individuals who have fame or success due to expertise and performance and they want to be that person. This is especially true in middle school and high school where the status game starts. They see the pro sports star with all the women, money and respect. They see the pop star with her adoring fans. ESFP boy realises they're actually good at basketball and befriends the ex pro coach's son and the best guy on the team and works when they work, while wanting to compete and win. He knows he's gotta know the right people and play well when it counts to get the scholarship ESFP girl realises she has a gift for entertaining and performing and starts doing musical theatre while taking voice and guitar lessons, and forms a band with other musicians as a reason to drive her to write songs and get better, she has to work hard for the band and to get to that level where she can get that big break

As I'm listening, I'm thinking about my ESTP ex-husband. My question is about how personality disorders can schew the ESTP. From what I've learned so far about MBTI types, I don't think any particular type is more likely to exhibit psychopathic/sociopathic tendencies than any other. It seems that any MBTI type could exhibit these qualities in their superego. Would you agree? Is that an accurate way of understanding it? However, my ESTP ex is also a narcissistic (clinical description) ass. A really unhealthy ESTP. Given his ESTPness, he presents as the classic narcissist.
@heatherbryant4197
@heatherbryant4197 5 жыл бұрын
I dated an ESTP who also came across as a narcissist and was a confirmed sadist. I once told him "If you didn't occasionally show some semblance of remorse, I'd think you were a sociopath." And he very nonchalantly said, "Oh, I probably am a sociopath." 😶 Thing is, I don't think a real sociopath would say that. He was playing a role, feigning confidence... In part because he thought that's what I valued. Fe child and especially Se hero is looking to give others a good experience and make them feel good. So I think the appearance of narcissism in (unhealthy) ESTPs can indeed be related to their functions. Of course, we know that clinically presented gradiosity really stems from pervasive internal questioning of self-worth or self-importance. And I guess Ti arrogance can mimick that grandiosity to some degree. Se hero and inferior Ni create a situation where they want to sample a little of everything and try it all, but have immense difficulty choosing one path and settling down and committing to one person. And so, by seemingly endless womanizing and having countless one-night stands, it may appear that they don't give a shit about anyone but themselves. I don't actually think this is always the case. Also because that "Se rage" can be abusive, it once again appears they don't care. One of the problems I had is that his Fe needed some strong Fi to latch onto, which I could not or did not give (Fi demon), so he never knew how I felt and his empathy never developed. Because of Fe, I think ESTPs also run the risk of becoming depraved if they surround themselves with the "wrong" types of Fi-users, or the more selfish Fi-users, and even hedonistic philosophy, especially since Fi trickster has such a loose, subjective sense of morality. I think other types can appear to be narcissists or sociopaths or Machiavellians for different reasons related to cognitive functions. But I won't argue that narcissism and sociopathy can be completely unrelated to type in some cases because I believe that's possible. The questions I would have are: Is the phenomenon we witness in types like the ESTP true narcissism/APD? If so, what causes it? Or, alternatively, is the correlation not causal, and are narcissism and sociopathy merely unrelated confounding variables when determining type? I also think that while all types can go into their superego to burn bridges, it is usually a temporary means to an end, and clinical narcissism and APD are defined by being persistent and pervasive enough to interfere with daily life, and most clinicians will agree the narcissist and "sociopath" generally only gets worse over time -- it's not something that just turns off one day. My 2 cents anyway.

To Estp it is about sacrificing their self improvement for the sake of the collective well being since they want the collective to feel better since they believe they are doing it for the other persons benefit through child Fe. Esfp will be more practical and simply show the other person how to do it without sacrificing their self improvement in the process since they believe it is the most effective solution overall through Te child.

Domineering, maybe in terms of trying to take all your time (ALL) and constantly control the environment in such a way that you don't leave their presence at that moment? Nah, that was just one. I disagree. I am ESFP my boyfriend is ESTP (I think) and he tends to be dominant more than me. He has to have everything in order, logic, events planned for other 2003050505 people. I am like I don't care if something goes wrong, as long as it is offstage and it is not important for me. During work I have to be structured, I can be a bitch sometimes and even my manager thinks that I am an ENTJ, what makes me laught. It depends on a person I think. ESTP boyfriend wants to be masculine, confident and logic but personally I know that he is soft as a teddy bear you know. So, no- both don't need to be domineering.
