This was a GRRREAT talk, Charis Bible College! I'll tell ya, I used to find LOTS of good inspiring, encouraging, teaching videos on KZbin... but, it's been like JUST within the last year or so, they're SO HARD to find (thus, I've QUIT believing that the "options" of videos to watch have much to do at ALL, anymore, with "their" story that it's "all based on algorithms"!) Anyways, the things you mentioned, especially at the beginning, about the "peace" comes WITH "GOD's voice" giving His direction & is POWERFULLY TRUE! The LORD GOD will always CONFIRM His WORD - 2Corinthians 13:1, also seen in Deut 17, 19 etc. In the case of the pastor giving a "word," the person should seek confirmation from The LORD GOD and keep their PEACE trusting The LORD GOD to reveal His Truth. Something similar happened to me and THE LORD GOD corrected the pastor publicly without my involvement. He later asked for forgiveness. Great teaching. Thank you!

I would like to add a few things: What we hear from God, whether in song, sermon, or someone else, it will always align with HIS Word, or something you have specifically prayed for. We should always feel guilty about sin in our lives in order to lead us to confession and forgiveness. Fear has its place. If we walk mostly in peace and suddenly fear comes on, it could be that we are in a dangerous situation or with a unsavory person. I always tell my kids to “trust their gut”. If something doesn’t feel right, we don’t need to stick around to find out what that is. In this instance, fear is our friend. Irrational fears, like always worrying about someone breaking in, you getting some sort of disease, is NOT from God. If someone else says they have a word for you, it’s probably NOT from God. Gods going to tell someone else before he tells you?! Give me a break. Sure that happened with Prophets of old, but not today because we ALL have the Spirit to speak to us, that is if the Spirit of Christ lives in you. Hearing God comes with experience in your relationship with him. You will know that you know that you know because of how he operates in your life as an individual and through his word. Thank God we have the Bible! We don’t need tongues or prophets to speak to us literally any longer because his indestructible Word is in our hands.

I think the third question is about that some times Godly men tell us wrong things from their minds, not from The Lord. For example when David was about to build The temple for The Lord, what Nathan the prophet said first was not from The Lord. Prophet Nathan just wanted to encourage King David do it. But later he returned back to tell David that he would not do it, rather his son Solomon would.

We are silent in our engagement with Him. When people say God is silent most times it is honestly a cloak for what is really at the root: unbelief. We fail to experience His presence and voice because of lies such as "God is silent at times." God is never silent; the lies we believe about Him destroy our capacity to interpret what He is saying. This is why proper new-covenant teaching is so important. It is the difference between life and death when it comes to your peace. God is always speaking so I encourage everyone to do whatever it takes to make sure you can understand what He has been saying all along. I go hiking everyday to get away from the unbelief of this world for starters. Sometimes starving your soul of the unbelief of other influences in life will go a long way to bring back clarity of thought and peace in the heart. God Bless.

Hi Barry! I always love the discussing of this particular subject. Jesus had many "emotions" as does He still , but always and in total agreement with the Father... always! Rejoicing is an emotion, to share the valid pain of one we love and lost is an emotion, I but share to say., we all do best when our relationship with Father God Almighty is kept close and familiar. And agreed Barry, we know, that we know, that we know! As children of the most high God may we hold close those in these days living in much need , our calling is simple, for God so loved the world!! I guess if God spoke to me in a normal sound it would probably blow my ears out.. but the Holy Spirit speaks to me everyday. Every moment of the day.. because I choose to be alert and listen.. and be obedient which I have fallen so many times before I learned this. And it hurt like crazy.. I learned the hard way.. but at least I learned I now know when it’s my emotions and I immediately give it to God so it doesn’t get in the way. 🙏🏾💕😊I hope you find some understanding in how God has allowed his “way” through my experience.. My pastor has done this and did not use the word God said. He might stop in the sermon and say he’s compelled to say something but it’s an in general situation and it normally is meant for many people. So many times this is happened to me or just the sermon was meant for me and I do believe God has his hand in that. But to single someone out is wrong.

Also, in the Dominican Republic where I’m from I was told that if you hear a voice calling you not to answer because it is demon that people send to attack or possess someone. And also in my walk with the lord I have heard such things and I know it is not the voice of the lord. I know when the lord speaks for his sheep hear his voice and they follow him. Ask the lord to help you identify his voice and identify the voice of the enemy and his demons. Remember that the demons and satan are in the air.

We unintentionally surround ourselves with people who think like us or resources that confirm the majority of whatever we already believe. We all have a filter through which we read the Bible, or hear from God. Just think about a major denomination you are not a part of, it's EASY to see THEIR blindspots, and to assume we don't have the same ones, is kinda ridiculous. I think one of the best ways to weigh the words we think we hear from God is through other believers/resources with the same basic foundation, but would be considered outside our circle. Proverbs says in a multitude of counselors there is wisdom.

Barry, i say this with great love, but i dont think you answered the question of the holy spirit and emotions well. I watched Andrew Wommack series on You've Got It, and he mentioned faith is your positive response to situations. he mentions, faith is always in us because we've received it from Christ. Now, what you said, is.. faith becomes alive, or activated in your heart. But what does that exactly mean? Are you saying faith as an emotion? Are you saying holy spirit quickens the word? Now I know peace is an accompaniment with holy spirit, but i genuinely don't understand what you're saying brother.

Recently heard a Christian member of my family repeat a dream he had about a murder. I tried to forget it but it bothered me. Later a friend snatched some notes from me while play fighting. to Pink Rainbow - ask The LORD GOD to show you why you are sick. He has commanded that He is Our Only Teacher, so even as we hear others speak/teach etc. we go to THE FATHER to hear His Voice on what we heard/read etc. and then we will have direction on what action to take. Read Matthew 23:8-10. Wait upon The LORD GOD to speak. His timing is Perfect and He is Our Shepherd Who goes BEFORE US. We are the sheep who follow - Psalm 23.

This is simple....9 times out of ten if the Holy Spirit is speaking you dont want to do it anyways. If it doesnt go against scripture and you know its not you then you can rule out the devil and yourself and just go with the Holy Ghost lol. Works every time.

Only unbelievers and false teachers will talk about these 2 things( the Holy Spirit and your "emotions") in the same context. As if they were somehow related to each other. They are not. They are two completely easily identifieable things for any true believer.

Doesn't a person need to be saved first to obtain the indwelling Holy Spirit he gives man who has acknolwdege their a sinner, repent of their sin and accept the payment of Jesus Christ's blood scarifier for remission of their sin? We are not all children of God as he said my sheep hear my voice. Christ said Ye must be born again.

Darius, all I can say is I've heard God's audible voice call my name, but when I answered nothing else was said. I think this is okay. I've also heard testimonies from others that had the same experience. Not sure what it means but perhaps God want us to be assured, to let us know that He's close. I would say not to worry about it too much. If He wants you to do something it will be clear to you.

Hello world, and respect to your folklores and so many traditions! I am presenting another poem, but this time it’s with God’s permission! As we look back at the year that we just came through! It was major hard, but we did it together, come on tell the truth! With the natives we did it standing with grace on wounded knees! With the Hispanics we did it praying and crying out “God” help us please! With Caucasians we was laughing at Karen fighting back the tears! With the Asians we got strength from ancient powers to calm our fears! With the Europeans we did it learning cultures adopted while we adapt! With music we was dancing in the streets with a doughy in our tap! African American culture southern food for comfort, and inner peace! Made room for our Cinco De Mayo days in Spain and Portuguese! African culture sent us Sashi, my art name, my skills and gifted power! My West Indies culture gave me my father’s love and safe happy hours! This Diversity in us is God so that means, purpose, and true identity! All of these things is the reason given to our name, are you “black like Me”! So please do not just think of us black, brown, red, or light skin! We are the blended tones of a still quiet voice on earth from within! No, my brother, unfortunately the English vocabulary is so poor, the word fasting, is not the same in Hebrew. In Hebrew little y means * NO FOOD * You read The Bible with the western mentality.
