Even when we set these expirations to 1 day, aren't we charged for a minimum of 30 days of storage?
@awssupport Жыл бұрын
Hi Victor, great question! 👂 According to this official doc you would be correct: go.aws/3JwFTWE. However, if you have additional questions, this article details all the options you have to get an answer: go.aws/get-help. 📚 ^DC

I looked up online and was shocked to read something like S3 deleting your files in 30 days, so does that mean that it'll only delete it if you create a policy? Otherwise the data stays there forever until you manually delete it?
@awssupport8 ай бұрын
Hello! During the S3 Lifecycle, you are able to specify some dates for each action to take place. You can find some examples of those rules, here: go.aws/4bWU7wG. ^RB

@@awssupport so by default, with no lifecycle policy/policies defined, data stored in S3 stays there forever unless you manually delete it? Is it the same for S3 Glacier?

You can review this document for more information on data stored within S3: go.aws/3IsNsgi. For additonal support, you can reach out via re:Post here: go.aws/aws-repost. ^AM

This does not work using boto3, since you cannot overlap a prefix. Huge limitation.
