Thank-you for taking the time to help us struggling beginners out. My friend and I have been prospecting since 2009, and no one has been willing to help us out , which has been discouraging. We don't fit the typical stereotype, as we are 2 middle aged women. Since childhood we have always had an adventurous spirit, and live the outdoors, and of corse the excitement of "treasure". So, Jeff thanks again!!!

Here I am watching all of Jeffs videos all over again. Jeff makes the greatest videos....the only thing I can’t figure out is how Jeff wears a buckskin shirt in the desert in summer time.

Really enjoy your videos Jeff. You really put your heart into them. I had just picked up a couple of the books you suggest. I am glad to see I was already "tuned-in" to the right stuff. Keep them coming, they are very entertaining.

Jeff, I also wanted to mention that I was never really sure of the various minerals you mentioned in your videos. I recently purchased the book "Arizona Rocks and Minerals- A Field Guide to the Grand Canyon State" written by Bob Lynch and Dan R. Lynch. The book offers good color pictures and descriptions of the minerals you have referred to in your videos. For people like myself who do not know much about identifying various minerals, it is a great field guide. Jay

I have had more than a few trips that I have walked away with only memories and a sunburn. There is a lot of ground to cover down by Quartzsite, so don't give up and remember to check your quartz.

I almost signed up to a panning club but I live in southern mo. I have been doing a fair amount of research on limonite. I am a new meteorite hunter and have loads of meteorwrongs. Which is commonly limonite or bog iron from what I've read. I've got access to some land that has a creek that washes out for miles around and concentrates it all in one area. I have yet to actually pan anything. I have found bog iron and white quartz. One with black sands in it. Keep postin and I'll keep watchin.

Thanks to my handy dandy pocket "askjeffwilliams" book, now I can and have been studying USGS, FS, USFS, Laws pertaining to miners and their prospects. Im learning about the igneous rock formations close to home...Big finds in the ways of "lode" & "placer" mining in Southern California. Though, I forsee much difficultys ahead with restrictions and the new Laws governing the mining community at large. Even for the small time weekend prospector there are new laws and sanctions and of course, miles upon mile of red tape.

Hey Jeff... super disappointed this weekend. Went to second GPAA claim (this time near Quartzite) and found NOTHING! found a spot with tons of quartz...there were many previous drywashing spots so I figure it was a good spot... ran drywasher...then to my horror in the spiral machine..almost NO BLACK SAND.. I sort of knew I was in trouble...I'm about ready to give up on GPAA claims in AZ..

@Askjeffwilliams10 жыл бұрын
Hi Chris it breaks the surface tension of the water so as to not allow the fine Gold to float, and when ever I mine an area that has fine Gold in it. Sampling will tell you . Jeff
