What is the reason why Companies House doesn't provide an 'official' incorporation document?

Hi Peter, as standard Companies House will only provide copies of the certificates. There is no original certificate of incorporation per se. If required, you can purchase certified copies. What would you like to see videos on in the future?

Thanks for your comment, Keziah! Generally, all incorporation documents are presented electronically and can be available to view under the Company's House filing history of your company. If you would like a hard copy, Companies House can issue a certified hard copy of your documents. If you have formed your company through 1st Formations you can get a hard copy of your certificate through our customer portal.

All limited companies registered on Companies House are real in the sense that they exist and are legal entities in their own right. Do you have a reason for your question?

Thanks for your question! Different banks will ask for different documents, however it is very common that your bank will ask for your company number and certificate of incorporation. This is why printed documents can be helpful for bank meetings. Does this help?
