I definitely got screwed on car payments due to low credit as well. I was thinking now I gotta find a cheaper buy out car or just tough it out with this one. Trynna refinance right now to see what my options could be. Currently 27. About $2k in debt currently. $640 monthly car note $460 insurance (gotta have full coverage on those financed cars)

This is our situation almost to a T... just add almost 2 mos behind on rent. When he said "We're tired", I felt that! I'm physically and mentally exhausted to the point that the chronic stress has led to depression and that's not helpful to my congenital heart condition. I'm so glad I found you Ramsey!! I REMEMBER being there it was about 10 years ago I owed 107 grand at probs close to the same income .. my car loan after bankruptcy was at 29.9% (yep I said twenty nine point nine percent) .. Xavier this baby step process WORKS u guys can get there .. make friends through FPU with others and get through it together .. 💯worth the effort

Goes to show you that bankruptcy is not the cure. Habits of borrowing and living large remained.
Just look at lottery winners and professional athletes who win or make millions and still end up broke years later. Proof most people don’t have an income problem but a spending problem

Wow $800 a month for two?? I’m over here at $175 a month for my daughter and I .. I do share custody of her, so half the time she is at her dads. But still 👀 . We are blessed to have people who give us food and we make it work with cheap pasta and oatmeal, and protein shakes for me. This month I’m finally debt free!!!!! 🎉 ❤🎉

I agree with your assessment that filling that hole is a lot easier. I don't think they wanted to live cheap to begin with so may be part of the problem. It may be better to bail out the boat faster rather than fill the hole. I do not know what is possible b/c he owes back taxes and I think he is self employed. I spend 800 a month in food, but we eat really healthy. Most of that cost is buying bulk meats when they are on sale and freeze them, but 200 a week for healthy fresh meals at home worth every penny

Grains + legumes = complete protein. Add a salad or steamed/stir fried vegetables and fruits in season every day, egg, poultry or fish and you will have great complete, healthy nutrition at the least expense. Cooking simply from scratch is key.

I guess this makes sense being 5 years old, the amount taken out of paychecks to make the net take home so low is not that far off of my household's paychecks, and we dont get huge refunds, im lucky to get one, hah, but only because of my son now, but 5 years ago it wasn't that bad so i get it. Now though, ughm it's ridiculous, the amount that is taken out. None of it for insurance nor 401k either. State of hawaii sucks. I officially think weve been priced out of paradise in every area now. I was raised and had my kid here, cant imagine moving, heck the dang flights are a fortune to begin with, but might have to. Hmmm.

Tithing doesn't come into the picture when you're in this much money trouble. They're in as much debt as they earn in annual salaries, and they've had bad money habits for decades. They need to get caught up first, it would be irresponsible to do anything but pay down those bills.
