José here! (Will 😅). Thank you for answering my question guys! So after I sent this question I got to talk with an art director and got some great advice that immediately send me to the drawing tablet. I started exploring a new style, using some other techniques and brushes, and I tried to loosen up a bit more. When I sent this new stuff back to her she seemed to really liked it, and I got a very positive response from the community overall. Like Jake said; we have to keep learning and exploring. If anyone wants to check it out let me know, I love getting feedback. PS for Lee: What I meant by the "I don't mind getting called generic" was that I don't mind getting my work critiqued, the thing was that no one really said to me how to improve the work so I was like "generic? Ok. Thanks?" 😅 PS 2: Luckily I live in Venezuela and it's pretty cheap over here. When I manage to get a good paying job I'll be basically rich! 😂 Again thank you

I guess skipping my question from months ago was ok because it sounded stupid... :) Anyway, I love that out of the box genius Lee thinking and succes in finding work, but I hand over jobs and recommend a lot, as well as get people into doing the same thing beside me to get on their feet... my experience getting jobs from colleagues is not too rare as they can drop lots of work... we created a group of 50 best illustrators from 25yrs old to 65 yrs old from my small country and we meet, talk and that's how we get ideas who to refer each other to... someone's trash is someone else's treasure at some unpleasant moment where you can't pay the bills for example... And magazines still work in Europe, Lee is right that magazines are great to start with. :)
