Question on Obligation:
Responsibility plays a significant role in the sense of obligation.
When we talk about not being obliged to do something, how do we reconcile that with the responsibilities tied to it?
For example- I am responsible for caring for my family, which also comes with an obligation tied to it as their child.
My perspective is that responsibility must come from a place of commitment and not obligation. If you genuinely want to serve your parents, you will find a way to commit. That way, you are not being half-hearted(often a result of feeling obligated); you are fully engaged with all your heart and soul. Doing something out of obligation reflects how you show up in the process, your actions, and the results. I consider Obligation to be a sin. The opposite is Commitment. When you are genuinely committed, the energy is different; you are excited, you look forward to it, and you will give all your heart and soul into it.
