Love the channel and the Godly music! Speaking a bit about secular music, the song Never Knew by the rocket summer seems to be about God. I didn't know it until recently when i broke out into song singing it on a walk, realizing the lyrics. I was in a very dark place and your Godly music, and songs that can translate to Jesus are helping me out. Thank You!

1. Feedback is the best and hardest part of songwriting. That is an absolute fact. 2. Songs are not babies. Wow. Awesome stuff you guys!

Devon's point about the growth being given by God is good. Just because you want to do something, even if you are gifted for it, does not mean that this is gift given to the church through you, or that it belongs in the sanctuary and worship service. You can express yourself, fulfill your creative desires, or enjoy all manner of expression without sharing this (imposing it upon?) the church. You should write songs if you are driven to write songs. If you have always written songs and always have songs you want to write and sing you should do so. Whether or not you are good at it, whether or not they are musically appealing or theologically helpful, whether or not they are necessary or useful to the Church or your congregation is a whole other story. How would the song you wrote serve your church better than the ones that are already available?

Great questions you present: how much have you studied songwriting, how open are you to editing, how many songs have you written, who has heard them and encouraged you in this,, how have you cultivated this gift in your Christian world? Other questions: how much have you studied Scripture, how is your prayer life, do you know the Bible from back to front, how deep is your knowledge of theology, how great is your love for Christ and your congregation?
