The movie producers didn't choose Trisha's version, there was only one version at the time;Leann's,who signed a 3 record deal with the movie company, the director/producer wanted Leann to rerecord her version,when her father refused,they hired Trisha to do another version .. they wanted a more adult sound.. remember Leann was ony 14 when she recorded this son for Dianne Warren. So they took her recording and Trisha into the studio, and recorded Trisha version.

It is, but she didn't do it...Trisha Yearwood recorded it first as a country song for the movie Con Air. Then Leann released it as a pop-country crossover. Both were nominated for a Grammy and Trisha won.
