A key point not mentioned is that you have to live the example for your kids. You can preach to your kids all you want about what you want them to do, but if you're not actually embodying those principles, your words are going to fall on deaf ears.

tc, you are 1000% right on the money. I feel that "leading by example" is the most underrated and underutilized gift you can instill in your children and in the working world to your subordinates. All of the verbal communication in the world is wasted if one doesent walk the talk. Today's kids are being bombarded from all angles with the wrong messages. Parents in so many cases are creating monsters that they will walk away from but.then the public has to deal with them

That you‘re even concerned about this is already a good sign. On top of what was said in the video, it might be a good idea to keep people in all financial states in their social circles and yours as much as possible. This is a very complex question but the short answer is you that you can't. Your safest bet is to not be entitled yourself, and foster a healthy relationship with your kids, they will most likely emulate what you practice. It's funny because my parents were always worried us kids would grow up to be entitled and would hang money over our heads a lot telling us how spoiled we were and how much harder they had to work to get what they have. My 10 year old daughter really wants an iPad . My husband and I said we would not buy her one due to the amount of money it cost ($300-$500). She has agreed to work hard and save her money to buy her one. Should we then let her buy one if she saves her own money?

@@georgemendez6760 She does inside work and yard work around the house. Buys stuff at yard sales then flips them for more cash and recently started collecting aluminum cans.

@@marshamata2687 that type of work ethic drove him and others in my family to work hard even throughout college.... I had multiple jobs while in school and maintained a 2.9 GPA while my brother & cousins maintained straight As.... their work ethic was always greater than mine starting at a young age because they had to work harder for things earlier on (that's not the only reason ofcourse but that's 1 of them)

Put your kids in band symphony and strings orchestra music or sports because there are competitions invitations tournaments hosting tournaments and volunteering and working as a whole team means something there is a sense of belonging of self esteem from accomplishments keeping grades up surrounded by other kids who are not only maintaining a 3.5gpa but learning new instruments or music always learninh to read music or their marching positions for field shows and for all parades they are doing volunteer performances invitation only to do things like march in the parade to celebrate the ex queen of hawaiis birthdate. Its all good.

I’m grateful for what I do have, but I’m restless to make myself greater. But I know I need to work for it: no one’s walking around offering a free lunch. I’ve been told I’m greedy (simply by wanting to earn more by creating more value) by people who want more without having to work for it.
