What if my dad already filed an N600 somewhere in 1996-98 but it was denied lack of physical presence I’m born in 1984 my dad is the only US citizen, both parents married in 1986 I became a resident in 1998, I’ve applied for n400 but was told I had derived citizenship from my dad and could file i290b form, only supporting documents I have are my birth certificate with my dad name on it +my dads death certificate + parents marriage certificate +school transcripts with my dads name as legal guardian and a few pictures (20-30) would that be enough supporting documents?
@Xartaetos20072 жыл бұрын
Hello and thank you for the video! One question I have though is the one regarding the actual proof of physical presence. If the US citizen parent was born and lived in the US during the 50s and 60s and almost no records of that time remain (other than some school transcripts here and there along with some pictures and maybe a couple of affidavits of people living there during that time), how does one go about proving the statutory 5-year requirement? In our specific case, the consular officer refused the affidavits...

I was born in 1980 abroad to a US citizen, my grandfather was in The US Airforce so my dad grew up on bases. What about pre 1986? 1980?

Because my mother was born before noon May 24, 1934, to a U.S. citizen mother abroad. She was granted U.S. citizenship at birth as in Equity in Citizenship Act of 1993, she received her U.S. passport in 2011 in Havana, Cuba. And she entered the U.S. in 2013. I was born in Feb 1960 in Havana, Cuba and I'm U.S. permanent resident since 1999. My N600 was Denied. "USCIS is asking me to show my mother lived in the U.S. before my birth." I'm searching for an experienced attorney to represent me.

My dad naturalized as an american in 1985 and lived in the US for about 12 years before that. I was born abroad in 1995 and never had a green card. Does that mean I cannot have derived citizenship and there is no way to obtain citizenship through him? Thank you

If you never had a green card, I doubt you can be qualified as a derived citizen.

Any help how to get my us passport replacement?
@michaelhorgan9525 Жыл бұрын
@@leorodz9587 You can easily replace a passport by getting an in person appointment and fill out forms DS-11 and DS-64. If you cannot provide a proof of citizenship you can fill pay an additional $150 for a file search where the State Department can look up your previous Passport record. Bring a photo ID and or 2 proofs of secondary ID (work ID, school ID, SSA card etc). You can easily replace your Social Security card for free by filling out a SS-5 form and visiting a social security office with the right identification.

I arrived in usa when I was 3 years old and my dad became a us citizen when I was 8 to 10 years old not really sure but I was under 18. Now I had a permanent green card and I committed crimes and was deported but was I a us citizen ?
@ErickWidman11 ай бұрын
Becoming a US citizen through a parent's naturalization can be a bit complex and depends on various factors, including your age at the time your father became a citizen, your permanent resident status, and other circumstances. If your father naturalized when you were under 18 and you had a green card at that time, it's possible you might have derived US citizenship through your father's naturalization. However, it's essential to consult with an immigration attorney who can review your specific case details and advise you accurately based on the circumstances surrounding your father's naturalization and your own legal status.
