Hey man, overall nice and informative video, but i would like to point out 2 things. 1- at 2:24, you do not need to use pliers, your hands are more then enough even when it is wet. Just pull/push away from the edge and it will come out (not up and away). 2- at 3:50, you do exactly that until you hear a click, only then it is placed back right. These "tips" come from my experience, hope they help :)

Kia ora Dan - "the wife" here from Aotearoa New Zealand. I am the main plumber in our household and do the unblocking of our drains, including E24 and E25 dishwasher problems. I notice many people commenting on here would like to know more (a video perhaps) of how to access the waste pipe, but you haven't responded to any of them. Would be polite to offer a response I think. Also, you seem to have skipped over how to extract material from around or under the impeller, so not really any advance on what's in the manual. One last thing, if you loaded the dishwasher yourself, problem solved beforeit occurs!

I have cleaned my spotless and still have problems draining. I took the drain hose off too and seems to be no blockage. I couldn't blow into it as I imagine it has a check valve to only go one way. I tried sucking on the drain tube and got a mouthful of nasty water so I know there is nothing blocking the drain tube. This has happened several times with that error code 24. Usually a quick clean fixes it but this time it is being stubborn. From what I have heard the Bosch dishwasher does this a lot. I guess buying and expensive German name brand was not a good idea. In the past I have had dishwashers that were half the money and never had a problem like this. I'm on the verge of tossing this two year old piece of junk to the curb. Will never buy another Bosch brand again. Thanks for the vid. I did everything the same as you did and it was barely dirty.

How do those great big pieces of sweetcorn get through that really fine filter? I don't understand the filter assembly at all, there are two filters a perforated plate and a fine wire mesh basket, but there's a great big hole down the middle through the knob that bypasses both. Weird.

My dishwasher doesn't drain, it usually drains alittle and then stops draining but continues to rumble. I think this means I don't have blocked tubes. Do I have a bad pump? Do drain pumps work intermittently? Thanks for the video
@stevefick39196 жыл бұрын
I'm from Canada, and I get the same error code on mine, "E24". The filter and drain are spotless, yet it continues to happen. I believe this is an issue with these Bosch dishwashers. I know the pump works fine, because It does work sometimes. You can here it operating and you can hear the water draining. My understanding is that it's an issue with the control board. (Somewhere around a $400 part!) I'm going to continue to keep everything as clean as possible, and see what happens. If it continues, I might need to replace the board. The dishwasher is only 3 years old. Very quiet and cleans very well, just this annoying problem.

Fabulous video, thanks for uploading. I have a question... How easy is it for the rotaty-thing to spin around when the wastewater exits? We have a virtually identical Siemens d/w that looks exactly the same when you get down to the drainage bits. I think we may have hair wrapped around ours since it's a bit tricky to rotate it. How we end up having hair in there is anybody's guess but all three of us here have long hair so at least we know where it's coming from! Cheers :)
@DanstheEngineer4 жыл бұрын
It should move freely so yes quite possible to have hair wrapped around it. It can be so fiddly to try and free up hair but I would use twizzers or similar. Some use chemicals but I personally wouldn't.

how often should I be cleaning my Dish washer? I've seen those bottles in the supermarket to clean the machine- branded or non branded cleaner?
@DanstheEngineer7 жыл бұрын
Big Man in The Woods I recommend you clean the waste filter weekly just to keep it clear. The trick is to rinse dishes more than anything otherwise you get debris build up. Anything hard that enters the waste can block it. Regarding the cleaners, they are not always necessary. You can hand wash the inside. You can also put the dishwasher on a high temp with no dishes. It's just to clean the internals. I do tend to use branded but try to get them on a deal!
