Here is a suggestion for the Cheesie diesel , turn it into a dummy. It would a thing to run behind the steamer for an excursion train. They often do that although speed matching would be a bear for models. Plus dummies are great for consist

@@ScottRails It is something to be aware of, early protos had it more. One thing may have too much grease

@@ScottRails My Proto 1000 F3s all developed cracked axle gears.When running your F3 listen for clicking or rough running or even locking up and not moving. It will probably happen in the future. Yours runs silently so I'm wondering if those gears have already been changed. Those gears are stock Athearn parts and are readily available.

Did you know you can soak those metal parts in vinegar and get rid of that rust.

Yes, but I'd rather just get rid of the metal bar, lol. Now I have a solid contact instead of a friction contact. Not as easy to remove everything now of course.

I'm wondering if it was made without proper reference to the real Loco. The front is definitely a little stubby and is more vertical than all my other F units, and the strange grey striping would explain that too. I still like it though.
