I will never trust the mirror in the fitting room ever again

+Justin Lew (MC Gamer) No need to worry -- just cup your hands around your eyes and peer into the mirror! It'll be easy to tell if it's actually a one-way mirror.

Scottie Yes there is, put your finger against the glass, if there is a gap between your "2" fingers, then it's a real mirror. If there isn't a gap, you should go away fast;)

If you wanna test if a mirror is trasparent you have to put your finger against the mirror: if you see a gap between you finger and its reflection it's a normal mirror, if your finger and its reflection touch it's a transparent mirror (i read this on the internet, if you have a transparent mirror try this so you can tell me if its true, for now on normal mirrors it corresponds to what the trick says)
@jillianarnold20317 жыл бұрын
BabuForTheFriends Actually, that just tells you which side of the mirror is coated. If your finger touches the reflection, the mirror is coated on the front side of the glass. If your finger doesn't touch the reflection, the mirror is coated on the back side of the glass.
@MysterySteve6 жыл бұрын
Jillian Arnold ....but the spray needs to be on the backside to reflect the light off of it. Otherwise it basically looks like the non-stick side to aluminum foil instead of a mirror.

One-way mirrors are one of those things you'd expect to only see in sci-fi movies like invisibility or flying cars, but since they actually exist, everyone ignores how freakishly otherwordly they really are.
@CrakaLakin023 жыл бұрын
Im totally overthinking this, but by using one sided mirrors in a cube shape (with the mirrors on the inside) couldn't you make a 4D illusion? assuming there was something inside the mirror cube that emits light?

1:25 Why would someone place a transparent mirror or two sided mirror typically used in security rooms, police stations and schools for special needs students (again for security/safety issues) in a locker room? Why would one make the office of the coach the office with such a mirror which is looking out directly onto the changing spaces and showers( also used by minors)?

That's the way all one-way mirrors work! The mirror coating is partially transparent, so if you get close and block the light around you, you can see through the mirror coating.

I can agree that we really need to switch to the Metric system... measuring by tens is much easier than "random" numbers. I would try to explain why we actually use it, but I'll keep it short and sweet: after breaking free from British rule, we didn't want anything to do with Britain. As for saying "aluminum" it's really only because of the mispronunciation of "aluminium" that stuck to American English. (I'm not trying to argue, I'm just pointing out the reasons why we have these things to slow the belief that we're arrogant)

watvid1 In 1808 Sir Humphry Davy, the British chemist who discovered the metal, named it “alumium.” With just one “i” and an “ium” ending, it straddled the two competing versions we have today. Four years later, however, Davy changed his mind and gave the metal the name “aluminum” (yup, the one-“i” American version).Jun 26, 2008 The Grammarphobia Blog: "Aluminum" vs. "aluminium" Anymore information to prove the UK wrong.
