I knew what will be the steps to handle online change even before you started explaining it (guess experience can extrapolate logic), but this is definitely a very good explanation to for less experienced users, covers all the important stuff there is.

This is super cool! Although I do have a question: What happens if the incoming updates and inserts are not backwards compatible and I want to revert? As in a column was dropped and/or a new one was added. Is it just recommended to keep initial releases backwards compatible when possible?

Good question! There are a few cases where a revert does not work, or can result in lost data. Check out our docs for more details. planetscale.com/docs/concepts/deploy-requests#revert-a-schema-change

Man, I hate it when osx tries to be smart and use smart quotes. One of the first things I turn off on a new machine.

Good catch! It took me 3 tries of rerecording to remember to actually update when i pasted it over 😭

Ha 90042 is such a nice nerd touch if it's intentional. The answer for everything on top of goku's power level in dragon ball :D
