The gang influence from the west coast spread to most of the other states through the prison system. Ppl saw how they were unified and couldn’t be easily victimized and some of them already had local gangs that got basically adopted by pre-existing sets. Some ppl also received blessings from other OGs to establish their own set where they from. I’m sure I might be wrong on some details of that but I’m sure someone will come to correct it lol. There was a time when Latin Kings in NYC more or less dominated the prison system & that also influenced ppl to align with other gangs so they wouldn’t be out there on their own if it goes down. I won’t speak on other cities but as far as I know that’s how we adopted it in NYC. We already had local gangs that were smaller and less organized. So the idea wasn’t foreign to us
@TheMartin9400
@TheMartin9400 10 ай бұрын
@bazar2021 California is totally different. No one from another ethnic group is victimizing anyone & if it happens, that's when a "Race Riot" errupts. If someone is victimized its by their own group. Most groups regulate their own to prevent such incidents & when it goes up, it means someone isn't keeping their people in line.
@TheMartin9400
@TheMartin9400 10 ай бұрын
@bazar2021 To someone from California other than the use of the name "Crip" or "Blood" & the excessive flaunting of bandanas. The out of state gangs don't resemble the California gangs at all. Not in attire, behavior or slang. So it makes it makes very little sense to claim something that's so different from what they portray.
@bazar2021
@bazar2021 10 ай бұрын
@@TheMartin9400 I’m explaining to you how it spread to my city based on the interviews I watched where the OGs from my city actually explain the history. Just because they don’t operate the same exact way as y’all do doesn’t mean gang culture won’t appeal to them. You asked a question and I gave you the answer. Our opinions on it are not relevant at all. Doesn’t matter what makes sense to you or me I’m just telling you what happened. Now I wasn’t there so if anyone wants to correct something I got wrong I’m open to that. You are speaking on how things go in Cali. We are talking about how the gang shit spread to other places so it doesn’t matter at all how shit goes in California prisons. The politics are diff everywhere you go bro. & some of the OGs from Cali is who sanctioned some of these new sets. You couldn’t just make up a random set name and start claiming Blood or Crip. & why would someone not claim a set from their city based on how gangs operate in completely separate places? They represent the set based on how it’s done where they from. Anybody who is willing to die about whatever they a part of is going to represent proudly. It shouldn’t be that confusing just because there are differences in how it’s done out there.

My thing is why people outta State claim LA gangs but don't wanna reach out to LA gangs I don't get it. I mean it the colors you wear but it's what you do with the colors that determines rather you are apart of a Los Angeles Gang or not. Not what you do but how you do is what draws attention. I'm from Long Beach but & If I represented wearing blue clothing then that says nothing but if I have a few cats with me all having the same name tattoos representing that then that's when you can say they're movin a gang because they are representing a set. I don't care what it's called. I don't care if the gang is called cactus gott daamit. If these cats represent that that means they'll kill you or be ready to serve time or life or give their own life behind it.

Nah it’s just don’t make sense how they started explaining it. In the town we just don’t claim anywhere we not from. Like she said you can’t be from Oakland and go no where else and say I’m from there without the town being on yo ass!! You can link team up pow wow politic do business all that but you can’t be from they hood city or gang just cause y’all do any of that. And I’m just saying that’s for Oakland so nobody from Oakland will understand just like she don’t that’s all based on our regional differences.

Because all this negativity and violence smacc basically explained how "black" people spread knowledge and culture across the world. We did not stay in 1 place and be content. We always wanted to travel and expand and spread the knowledge. When you accord it to gangs it turns ignorant. But before gangs this was how black people stay connected from California all the way to Kansas

Nah you don't understand her. She is referring to "sets". Be a crip or blood anywhere but name it after your set. You can't be in Memphis and call yourself a rollin 60 if you don't live on 60's block. Or in south Carolina claiming eight tray. LA sets are named for specific reasons, whether geographical, street names, park names, project names etc etc. Other cities don't share that. You can't be in Brooklyn and claiming campanella park piru. That name is exclusive to that area and was named after roy campanella who was from there. Crip and blood is one thing, but she's referring to specific set names. Also, out of towners don't politic the same or have the same enemies as LA sets. They don't have those enemies because they don't have that history. But don't take my word for it, take it from the mouth of the most famous LA rollin 60 kzbin.info/www/bejne/emLciZuAodCcr9Esi=Lf970BqZgzUR845R
