The gas station accounts you can do a little higher pricing if their independent non corporate 2nd ecclusivity isn't what you think it is there's many holes in that if I'm a big enough distributor they sell it too you regardless and I can always buy it from a mega food supplier like I have access too I get your pricing or better and I can order single cases 😉

I third this! The last leg is the most inefficient and riskiest part of the distribution chain. What most of these route guys take home after they pay their note and weekly expenses is crumbs when you consider the risk, responsibility, and working conditions. Then good luck finding a buyer when you want to get out. Quality people aren't lining up to buy routes, just riff raff, criminals, weirdos, and time wasters. The companies won't be in a hurry to make the transfer either. Delays and excuses until the one legit buyer you finally find after a year of looking gets disgusted and moves on. It makes no sense to buy a route unless your only other option is flipping burgers at Wendy's. You can go to a trade school for much cheaper and at the end of it be in a line of work where you have some leverage and pride in yourself. The hard truth is no one gives you any respect for being a junk food distributor.

Biggest mistake of my life took out from my 401k bought a route and worse thing ever. Miss inventory you dont get paid, they run the handheld on Bluetooth theres no connection, handheld are trash, printer trash. And the company Campbell's is horrible.

I’m curious about your business structure. Do you have employees that execute the route week in and week out and you’re left with ordering and account management? Or are you personally driving the route? Thanks

If you hire someone to run the route, there's not much money left for you. Make no mistake, this is a physical full time job with lots of overhead and in the long run, you have to do what you're told by the district manager or risk losing your route. Be aware that you can lose products that are shipped and not delivered via route. This happened when Krogers grocery no longer paid vendors for Skinny Pop or Kettle and vendors lost that commission.

So, if Snyder thinks an account can generate more money but customers aren’t buying Snyders demanded quota, how could the route driver lose his route over this?

You don’t lose route for not growing your business.. you lose your route if you are getting in a trouble with the store and people in the store. If the store manager is not happy with your service he or she can simply say she doesn’t want you in the store. If that happens you will have to find someone else to serve the store. If you can’t find someone, you can either sell your route or just give up on your route. Too much risk is involved in the route business.

You are your own boss. You can tell those distract managers to fuck off. You're not employed by snyders. Those DM's like to see who is naive enough to listen to them. However you are at the mercy of the stores and their managers which are essentially your customers. You do not want to piss them off. They can boot your ass right out the store if given proper reasoning and then you're screwed. Or they can just make your life a living hell not give you additional space, try to limit your back stock, get you on strict planogram. Snyders are good routes generally, used to be great when it was higher commission. Used to be 18.75 % and more.

Key is having the right territory.. if you were your own boss you would be able to service when you wanted, put out whatever product you wanted on the shelf and run promotions when you wanted.. you get told what to put on the shelf and squeezed from Snyder’s and the store

yeah im having a massive issue right now. ive worked and operated a snyders lance route in inverness fl and for some reason the publix manager breached contract by bringing in another vendor for my product and not letting us have backstock then saying we can when someone higher up shows up. so im at a complete loss ive contacted everyone i can think of and no one can do shit. i lost my job because of a lying manager i poured everything i had into that route time money ect just to get thrown out like a dog. corprate dosnt wanna talk about the photos or the log in logs.

You have to have a good reputation at store level places like Walmart can be tough and no fault of you're own.

Sometimes you'll be given them from the planogram. Sometimes you can ask for them (usually if you have something on sale). It varies for each store and each grocery manager on willingness to give if not planned.

You can but if your employee calls out or quit, you get stuck with running a route.. it’s really impossible to find someone reliable to run a route. Route business is probably the toughest business to run. So don’t even think about having someone run a route for you while you stay home collect the money.. you may end up losing a route and losing the money you invested to buy a route..

What do you do about independent Convenient stores that buy product from independent distributors? A lot of the Indian owned convenient stores buy from Indian owned distributors.

On Snyder Lance why do you need a warehouse if you are picking up product from manufacturers and deliveries by directly to stores?

Do your homework this business is alot of work and risks can vary there's alot too think about logistics, accounting, the supply chain , and the supplier what if they decide too discontinue the best seller for your route , what if they double your price , what if distributors and others can buy it for your cost or less from someone else possibly a out of state vendor undercutting your potential growth , product expiration, how the contract is structured 99% of the time too your disadvantage not always easy too sell they may have too approve your buyer , frito lays , double eagle , southern glaziers , reddy ice all have routes but they don't sell them anymore , why ? It's profitable the companies often sell too distributors expansion is almost impossible there's so many things too think about first

@@alexanderthefirst6002 Don't argue with someone who doesn't know what he's talking about. routes like Fritolays are not sold because of their large amount of space in stores and liability. there are routes like mission food where the merchandise leaves directly from the manufacturer without intermediaries, these are safe routes because you are directly with the warehouse and manufacturer, a few months ago bimbo had its takis route with intermediaries (distributors) and now it changed to common vendors that They take the merchandise directly from the bimbo warehouse. I think you should be better informed of what you are talking about in order to be able to comment on this topic. it is best to buy routes directly with the manufacturer and not from third parties and this is safe because you are working directly with the owner and creator of existing and old products, maybe you went through a bad moment on a route but this does not mean that all they are bad or they are headed for a scam. go out with me to sell a week and you will learn something new. I have a route that gives me $5000 free of charge per month working only 4 days and 4 hours. Do not you believe it? I'm in Dallas come and I'll show you 😄

No you will have to do you're own orders based on you're accounts that you have on route.

So if I buy a Snyder Route would it be breach of contract to buy another route and operate both routes on days? Do my 3 days in at Snyders and 3 or 4 days at my other route? I don’t mind days off but I’m a business man and what’s the goal of running a business? MAKING MONEY… 10% or 15% at Snyders is great but an additional 17% from that other route…who doesn’t want to make 32% commission weekly or monthly?
