I love the idea of the kids playing and growing in Rockford and dominating with a chance to win a Calder cup instead of feeling the pressure of playing in the NHL right off the bat. Let them build their confidence first and learn the system in the AHL first!!! Honestly when the hawks won all those cups a lot of those guys were playing in Rockford first and dominating there first before winning cups on the Hawks squad.

That’s true. Obviously, rushing guys hasn’t worked well for the Hawks in recent years: from Dach, to Reichel to Boquist to Korchinski. Whatever happened to Nolan Allen? Not much, im guessing. As long as they’re improving and moving through the pipeline. But damn, you want to have some contributions before Bedards rookie contract is up.

I disagree with you guys about Korchinski. It would not have been a waste to send him back to juniors. First of all he didn’t dominate in his final season in juniors. He was a 3rd team CHL All-Star. He played bottom pairing minutes on the Canadian World Junior team. Del Mastro BTW played top pairing minutes on that same team. Del Mastro has been properly developed. Korchinski looked beaten down at the end of the season. He was in way over his head. With regards to Levshunov I say send him back to Michigan State. Maker,Powers and Luke Hughes all went back for their sophomore seasons. They’ve all said it was beneficial. They rushed Korchinski don’t make the same mistake with Levshunov.

Watching some Levshunov tape, does anyone else see a right handed Korchinski? Maybe there’s some truth to the rumors that the hawks lost some faith in KK and see Levshunov as a better version?

I don’t think they lost faith. Every player develops differently. Some players take time and others get a better chance to play in the NHL. KD has to make a decision with Levshunov before training camp because he’s from college. it’s very important to make sure that what is the best move for his growth. Korchinski now has to work for his spot in the NHL again.

Alot of crap 1 year contracts . Don't mind the 3 top forwards they got. But think Nazer should get a shot. Kourchinski should of stayed in the minors one more year. Levshunov might of dropped or take my guy Iginla.

How are they garbage moves. Some of them won a Stanley Cup so they earn the money the hawks gave them. They are veterans who can play if young players need time to develop. And 4 to 3 years is the window from getting this team to ready to make the playoffs when the contracts expire. The only player I don’t want is TJ Brodie.

Since we need 6 defensemen, both guys can be used and whoever is slightly better won't really matter.
