How does an electoral college protect smaller states? Quite the opposite, it encourages them to be neglected

It amplifies the vote of individuals in the state as you are dividing a small population by the number of electors. Florida have a population of 21.5M and 26 electoral votes meaning that if everyone voted, each vote would be worth less than in Vermont where there are 624,000 people and 3 electoral votes. Florida: (26/21,500,000)x100 = 0.000120930233% Vermont: (3/624,000)x100 = 0.000480769231%

Well...... the focus now (among the well - informed) is on the content of the US Constitution which encompasses the whole gamut of 'Citizens Rights' and 'Privileges' besides outlining modalities to resort to in case an unprecedented situation arises in the conduct of the nation's governance. It (the Constitution) would definitely guide resolution, however complex it might appear to...... lesser beings ! The founding fathers would have 'definitely' factored-in every conceivable possibility (the remote/most bizarre event included!) to guarantee resolution to a knotted issue. So holistic or robust is the nation's (or any nation for that matter) Constitution that it commands respect, rather worship in its handling by those who seek counsel. My humble view of the US election 2020 : It will be unique - for this 'Recipe' has the most untried untested ingredients such as : The year (election year) woke up early with a pandemic on a scale last seen. in the Yr.1918 ! Add to it, the management (or mis-mngnt) resulting in colossal loss of life. The free-fall in economy and the snowballing effect thereof. International relations at its lowest ebb. The UN being accused of inefficiency, besides a host of other charges. WHO charged with China bias. The racial unrest that seemed to surpass the era of Martin Luther King. Police bias and excesses never seen before in the USA. As though this wasn't enough, the most ugly and debased standard of the much awaited debate of the presidential-race contestants. Less said, the better. The 'last straw on the camel's back' - the President's Covid affliction. How frail can human life be......and the course of events? Adieu !
