Sir, thanks for the video. Sir when the reading is going to be +ve or -ve? What decides whether the reading is going to be+ve or -ve.

Wen u c the dial gauge going clockwise u take it as positive and if it turns anticlockwise take it as negative
@kumarsidharth92 Жыл бұрын
is this like..before putting dial gauge between web,dial gauge has to be little compressed to allow expansion for +ve reading and further not allowing falling into crankcase.
@marine-knowledge-basha Жыл бұрын
No sir.. After fitting disk gauge u have to set the dial to zero

Hello sir.. Apke dial Gauge pe +, - ki marking opposite hui wi hai de. On left side of 0 that is when webs are opening, it should be positive and on right side of 0 it should be negative.

Hi.plz what the reason we have to make crankshaft deflexion ?
@fuzailalam88303 ай бұрын
3 Reasons 1. To know the condition of Crankshaft 2. to know the alignment of crankshaft with respect to bedplate. 3. To know the condition of Main Bearings Over period of time these bearings are worn out and it may not be uniform throughout the lenght of crankshaft. Therefore Crankshaft Deflection comes for our help

@surajdubey58472 жыл бұрын
Sir what is main purpose of taking crankshaft deflection??? And what is the corrective action to be takes if we find deflection??
@marine-knowledge-basha2 жыл бұрын
Main purpose.. To know the condition of crankshaft To check the crankshaft alignment To know the condition of main bearing and its alignment. If the values is beyond the limit maker should be informed. Ship board staff should report it to makers and get their advise. It is not advisable to run generator if the crankshaft deflection is beyond the limit as it may break the generator.

Thank u very much...what about the +and - values?? When to consider positive and when to consider negative??
@marine-knowledge-basha Жыл бұрын
When the crank web is throwing outward it will give positive reading and if the same throw inward it will give negative reading..
@mr.cookie38612 жыл бұрын
sir it is not necessary to move the dial gauge to 20 first ? its like the starting point (abdc)
@marine-knowledge-basha2 жыл бұрын
Sir u r rt.. Initial setting u have to set the dial to zero then for the entire reading turning should not be stopped for understanding purpose i had stopped for each position..

U can fix the gauge in between web and tie the gauge with rope to pick incase it falls
