What is a Tomahawk Land Attack Missile TLAM & How Do Tomahawk Cruise Missile Work? According navy.mil, the Tomahawk Land Attack Missile (TLAM) is an all-weather, long range, subsonic cruise missile used for deep land attack warfare, launched from U. S. Navy surface warships and U.S. Navy and United Kingdom Royal Navy submarines. Tomahawk cruise missiles are designed to fly at extremely low altitudes at high subsonic speeds, and are piloted over an evasive route by several mission tailored guidance systems.

Basically, the missile knows where it is, by knowing where it was and where it wants to go, and subtracts that from where it isn't. That way, it arrives where it wasn't

@@throatpunch4789 It's just small servomotors actuating the fins at the back. They have a large suit of sensors (accelerometers, gyroscope and magnetometer) that feed into a regulator to keep it flying outside of the guidance stuff. Cruise missile are basically autonomous drones, they fly exactly like planes do with a few added sensor. Most of the weight is in fuel and engine, which is a small clone of an airliner engine. For takeoff they have a solid booster which drops after a few seconds.

Old and slow 🤣 Well, unlike you these missiles have been constantly upgraded during their history. They have had engine upgrades, targeting upgrades, and they even have stealth versions. Even guidance has been upgraded. They even had an EEW addition to avoid jamming. Then they upgraded that too. They don't fly just using GPS either. They have more capabilities than most missiles being built after them have.

Not really, they destroy strategical targets, for example a wapons factory, or radars and anti air weapons or artillery so that latet on their fighter jets can go into that air space wich was protected by missiles systems, because of the low altitude the radars can not detect the tomahawk missiles until its too late to destroy them

The idea is to put them on the drones with som kind of powerful jet engines then activate close to target or close to borders before is drone detected it can put them from high attitude and then cruise missile can faling down from for example 10,000 meters and to be activated close near land or see until enemy forces going to find drone the rockets falling down invisible and be activatet in best time mach closer and invisibel for enemy forces…. It is great idea to use them they will be almost invisible and very close to target. If u activate them from boat or land it can be detected easier.

@Mandalorian Brahmos is actually a horrible missile. Tomahawk is better
@snsproduc

@Mandalorian More countries operate and are buying more tomahawks than the Brahmos (I don't think US even sells Tomahawks to any of those countries that would buy Brahmos). It's differently not over rated but more like way under rated with what it can do. Range 1550 miles or more, that can hit ships in the ocean and loiter around/basically be a drone/send target information for other weapons and is un-jammable, plus cheap compared to other cruise missile. Brahmos can't do any of those. Really only a few countries operate Brahmos cruise missile, a few more have thought about it but not more than the Tomahawk. The Brahmos doesn't have any of the guidance system that is needed to hit targets really far away with really good accuracy, plus its really not that hard to jam.

Brahmos is the best Anti ship missile 🔥 Tomahawk is outdated nowdays, very much money waste against most of countries.

funny that you should say, the Tomahawk is way newer and has way more Technology then the brahmos missile. The Tomahawk has way way more range and is un-jammable. It literally has the tech to hit its target without any help from anything else. And is one of the most successful missile of all time. It hits its target 95 percent of the time it's been fired.

Year 2023, Apr 20. High subsonic speeds = Nice How many will russia need to cover ukraine with such a design but modify to stupid rocket without electronics and airburst one 155mm shell at 30-meters (or 100 meters) height per "tube". Nevermind the multiple warheads style or cluster style. Just need costing for coverage using cheap, cheaper and cheapest versus maintaining protracted one year of fighters, pilots, (ouch-level pricing)missiles
