In the US at least, you can get away with calling the first $10,000 tax-free gifts, then the rest is taxed the same as income tax. If you have any clue what you're doing, you'll put yourself as self-employed. Not only can your streaming gear like your computer become a tax-free business expense, but you'll also have a lower tax rate, especially with the Trump tax plan in place right now. Again, this is in the US I'm talking about, don't know anything about other countries.

Actually, it's cpm would be interesting to see since porn networks are the only place where 18+ advertisers can put up ads. In my opinion, Twitch can be a fun and engaging way to get some *EXTRA* money, like a second source of income (though it would be a small one), but honestly I don't see myself living off of streaming.The best I can see is a hobby that can bring in some money, but not be my main source of income. And besides, many streamers agree that after doing that for a while, it can become quite stressful (when they do that full time), since they can't take any breaks, otherwise their audience can quickly fall. It doesn't change the fact that I do want to get started on streaming one of these days, but we have to remain realistic. Even if one happens to become more successful than he or she would have thought, it definitely doesn't happen overnight.

I did a poll on my Discord server to see if they wanted me to stream and my 30 subs( XD ) wanted me to, so i did it for fun. Rather then use time to make a video i just streamed and they got to enjoy some live content. I wasn't even thinking about money and I will not be for a while. I am like Saitama, Just a guy doing something for fun

How good are you at it? How extensive is your gaming knowledge? Are you good looking? Are you charismatic? Because those are things you'll need. I use adblock and there's no need to subscribe to live streaming when videos are everywhere.

The streamer makes 1 to 1 on the bits cheered on the channel. The buyer can get deals for buying more bits in bulk but it still equals a 1 to 1 on the streamers side (in USD).
