Thank you for this. I just bought a 5 year old FT, and this explains a lot. Yours don’t have all that head activity and I like that. I come from quarter horse world. Had no idea how much harder these guys are to ride. Great new challenge.

Absolutely true statements!! Gaited horses are challenging which is why I love them!!

I am going to buy your series. I am an English rider who started to ride somebody else’s gaited horse. Through your videos I already learned what to do to get a consistent gait with head down. ❤

Very interesting. Thank you! What is the brand/model of the saddle in the slow motion video with the palomino?

For the clinic, Ga or NC would be amazing! I would love to come as an observer!

I don't have any scheduled in those states, I'm sorry. I do have one near Chattanooga TN.

Is the hose that you have listed for sale suitable for a tall man, stockie built? Think 6 ft 3”. About 260 lbs?

In the video starting at 8:37 (Palomino), can you please tell me the brand of saddle you are using? Many thanks.

I thought I was getting lot s of gait on the sand road bit when I wanted to check it on the hardend road I wasn’t getting it. Horse seemed also faster/ more willing on the sand road. Maybe hardens road hurt his hooves. Or I was wrong about gait. I could ask a friend to feel her haired horse but its a different breed.

If you can get a video both places, that can help a lot.

7:21 are there spurs involved ???

Nope! I don't ride with spurs.

i noticed for the pasofino you used a clicker and treat for a reward. Do you use positive reinforcement on all horses early in the training? Or is it purely based on the individual?
@IvyS Жыл бұрын
It is mostly based on the owner's preference. I would do it with all horses, but only if the rider wants it.

shoot!! I really wish I would have gotten in on the $99 private training group. I just barely found you. do you plan on doing any holiday coupons or discounts?
@IvyS Жыл бұрын
The membership price usually stays the same. I often offer discounts on my training DVDs/downloads.

Do you have any footage of training a standardbred (pacer)?
@IvyS3 ай бұрын
I have worked with a standardbred, but she was trotty and pacey. I would do the same thing as I do for any other pacey horse. Do you have a pacey standardbred?
@kailierayner55123 ай бұрын
@@IvyS He paces primarily, but does fall into trottiness pretty often. I’m hesitant to do much with him by way of gaiting because I’m unsure of myself in what to do with his inconsistency.
@IvyS3 ай бұрын
@@kailierayner5512 sounds like a normal gaited horse. Any of the videos apply to him. Gaited horses are hard, though.
@kailierayner55123 ай бұрын
@@IvyS thank you! When you sit a horse’s pace, do you do so in the same fashion as a seated trot?
@IvyS3 ай бұрын
@@kailierayner5512 yes and no. I don't let horses pace unless I'm training softness and head down. When I do sit it, it depends on how hard the horse is pacing. Every horse is different.
