Heat shrink tubing is also available in various colors. I use a yellow color code to mark my gear...

I wrap Scotch Colored Plastic Tape around the center of my double enders.

You can get heat shrink on some colors

I wrap it with colored line. More visible underwater and identifies them as mine to my friends.

Laser engraving, acid etching, or masked electroplating could also be some other options

Acid etching can be done at home, a little vinegar, a little salt, and a dc power supply.

#ASKMARK Hey Mark, do you think the new Aqualung owners could cut edges to boost profitability, affecting quality (reliability, worse construction materials, durability)? Would be helpful to know if this has happened on other deals like this or not as I was planning to get a new Aqualung BCD next year, but now I don't now if it's a good idea ... thanks a lot!

It's hard to know exactly what they're going to do with the company but, the company is in a bad position. I doubt that they would bother to put too much R&D power into redesigning existing SKUs and they'll be more interested in selling through existing stock. I think if they change the design of something like a BCD they'll need to get it re-tested for the CE marking etc. That being said, I would be looking around at some alternatives

Just a follow-up, do you happen to know any good alternative for the Axiom Men 2023 (not the i3), I was leaning for this model due to the harness it has (would help my back), but also its hybrid bladder system (back inflate while in horizontal position, but also from the sides while vertical). #AskMark Thanks for all of your wonderful videos. What is the best way to clean the aqua lung legend 3 regulators? Is it without the dust cap on or off? It has the auto closure device so do i need to rinse that off with or without the dust cap? Please help

In a perfect world you would clean your regulators while attached to a cylinder. Without a cylinder, remove the dust cap and hold your thumb over the inlet to the 1st stage. You don't need to worry about cleaning the ACD, salt and other contaminants won't reach the ACD.

What's wondering what's are some good SMALL lights and knives that you would recommend that can be attached to a BCD. We're not night diving. #AskMark

EEZYCUT Trilobite or trauma shears are both great options. They're both very effective at cutting through obstacles in a safe way and they're cheap to replace. Torches there are plenty of compact choices for backup lights. OrcaTorch, DivePro and BigBlue have some good budget options

#askmark Hi mark, If you decided to buy new drysuit would you fit it with plastic or metal zipp, and why? Thank you

I think that metal zips tend to be better in general. Some divers talk about how they're stiff or heavier than plastic zips, only the weight is negligible compared to the rest of your gear and once it's waxed properly they're easy to run. Plastic zippers are fine and my current drysuit has a plastic zip. I've never had an issue with my plastic zipper but, I do worry about it more than I ever did my brass zip. My next drysuit will probably have a brass zipper on it but, I wouldn't be bothered if I could only get a plastic zip.
