How do you like your spices? I'll go for bay leaf👍 Part 1

I got this small log as a gift from a local guy that was learning turning in my shop, and instead of turning one pretty much useless thing I like this approch to use every bit of wood and I should end up with 5 decend size bowls and 6 scoops that Will last a life time...

I think the stims of some bay leaf trees' are Poisson's. Might want to check what kind of bay leaf tree that is.

Your bandsaw technique is similar to mine. Thank you for showing how you processed this piece. All my wood comes from firewood so I often get odd shaped pieces to work with so it’s hard to visualize what I can get out of it. I also agree that Richard Raffan has great wood processing videos

I don’t have a bandsaw,I get by with a couple of handsaws.As I’m just a hobby turner speed does not matter so much.

You use bandsaw same as I do only 8 times faster.

Well after 18 years still have all my digits so although it looks unsafe I make sure not to go with fingers in front of the blade....
