Hi Scott! Excellent presentation!!! It's so funny you bring up the "smell"... The PB Blaster has a very 'unique' smell for sure! As you well know, you have to be very aware of these things when working in other people's homes! The funny thing is I can't get used to the smell of Ballistol! The 3in1 smell always takes me back to when I was a kid... 😃👍. Thanks very much for sharing!!!

Thanks ScoutCrafter! Hey, by the way, on an unrelated matter, I received my Lock Line pliers today, and they are in very good shape. They open and close very smoothly. The thing is, I can’t get them to lock on to anything! Either I’m doing something wrong, or maybe despite being seemingly well lubed, maybe something is seized internally. Any ideas that could help me out? It also looks like they may be slightly bent. Not sure what to do with them! I appreciate it!

Hello Scott! Their are very few parts to these pliers but I think you are on the right track as far as maybe the inner cam is not engaging because of the lack of use... I would try two things, first flood the joint with penetrating oil, then if that still doesn't work hit it with a little heat and more penetrating fluid (PB Blaster) hopefully it will free up the cam... Once it works it should be good! Let me know!!! 😃👍

Just found your video. I've never heard of Ballistol. Bought some on Amazon and subscribed. You may think of putting up an affiliate link. Thanks for your upload.

I love the...he said he used it to power up some 12" headline, but when you have 6 sons each having vehicles, and friends with vehicles...I had to end up buying a gigantic husky tool box with wheels and telescopic handles. I got socket wrench sets with sockets missing, cordless drill sets that drills get returned 2-4 months later. I had one son use my battery jump starter and took it to the beach and got all sand in it..thankfully it still works....he says he needed it to power up my backyard 15"bluetooth speaker, and got sand in that speaker as well....its tough maintaining your tools when you have to goto work in the morning with sons who too cheap to buy their own toy fixers.

4:35 why not use a painters brush rather than a paper rag to apply thin even coat across the tool not missing any crevices paper rag will absorb most of the ballistol rather than coating the tool properly

Ballistol is so expensive because they make it under food conditions. You could actually drink it, and some guys here in Germany do that if they've got a sore throat. Personally I can't stand the smell of Ballistol... And keep it away from copper or copper alloys like brass or bronze.

Drinking it??!! INTERESTING. I actually like the smell of it, myself.

Yup, there's a variety of it available named "Neo-Ballistol" which is actually the same as normal Ballistol but made under pharmaceutical conditions. The standard Ballistol is food safe. Meaning this can be used in the food industry to lubricate machines there. You can't use standard lubrication there, because this could contaminate the food. You can use it for almost everything: Sunburns, wounds (it's desinfecting), insect bites, burns and so on. ballistol.de/shop/en/products/people/neo-ballistol-household-remedy/2/neo-ballistol-houeshold-remedy

Do you still lubricate your tools this way? I’m looking for two things. What can I use to clean my tools and then lubricate them so they don’t rust. I want something that won’t stink when I open my toolbox and won’t be oily and leaking lol

Absolutely. I still use the Ballistol, but I also use Boeshield T-9. It kind of “Semi-Dries” if you know what I mean. It will stay where you put it.

Hi Scott. I have a Unique question I think. What is your input on crime sockets both new and started to rush ones? (Not impact ones necessary) thanks

I just got down cleaning a set of large sockets. One is gigantic and takes a 1 inch drive. I put them in evaporust for a couple days and then in a bucket of hot water with dawn. Then I used this wire attachment on a drill to get deep in the sockets. Then I gave them a toot of wd40 on the inside and again on the outside and wiped them with a towel.
