[Takuo Toda PROFILE]
Born in Fukuyama, Hiroshima,1956.
President of CASTEM Corporation and Chairman of Origami Airplane Association. In elementary and junior high school, he was a long-distance track and field athlete. In high school, he was a member of Kendo club. Entered Gakushuin University Faculty of Science, but dropped out and transferred to Waseda University Faculty of Science. After entering the university, he belonged to a mountaineering club, but after falling ill in his second year, he started making paper airplanes. After dropping out of university, he returned home and joined a self-employed precision casting company. The company manufactures aircraft parts as well as precision instruments, but at the same time, he hopes to become an evangelist of origami paper airplanes.
1995: Established Japan Origami Aircrafts Association
2001: Paper Airplane Museum established.
2013: Name changed to Origami Aircrafts Association
#TakuoToda is the Guinness World Record holder.

Very low lift coefficient during throw but high lift coefficient after recovery is the most difficult thing ! Even for our distance world record.

How would you get a low lift coefficient during throw for a distance plane, I’ve been trying to design one, but it climbs very quickly after launch?

Thank you so very much. Discovered this video after having my students make and fly a version of this using U.S. 8.5" by 11" copy machine paper. Very nose heavy, had to adjust the rear to keep it aloft. Looking forward to making a the actual record-holder, which seems to have more wing area and of course A5 paper had me saying 'wow!'

How do you make SkyKing so that it transitions from vertical throw to horizontal flight? When I throw it, it either goes straightly vertical and crashes down vertical, or if I add the bend at the rear side of the wing, it doesn’t go to a high altitude, and sometimes loops down, how do you get both high altitude and good flying at the same time?

Yes, paper flies farther if it's heavier, but if it's too heavy, it won't work.
